Guess what WE did last night..

I bet you all thought it was dirty haha. Where are YOUR minds lol!!

Last night we finally took down ALL THOSE D#MN KNICK-KNACKS of BE's and all the pictures and went through all our things that we want out. FINALLY! It felt Soooooo good to incorporate "our" things for display. I finally feel less like someone renting a corner of his house and much more like it is "our" place.

For example the curio display cabinet now is displaying the Morono glass vases we got from Italy together, and pictures of his dds along with pictures of my parents and dd and his dad. All together! It looks so nice! And we put away the hundreds of little knick nacks that meant something to him from his past 30 years that has no meaning to me.

But I was a "good girlfriend" and even offered up to keep out some of his artifacts that he got traveling that I actually like that blend well with our

That is great! I am so happy for you. I have been pressuring PP to get the rest of his stuff rom his house, dressers more clothes etc so we can set up the bedroom so he has drawer space.

Thanks Moon. I now feel like when I go home I am actually going "home". This was a very good step.

Thanks Liz. I found that making compromises goes a long, LONG way. And I am also learning to let go of visions

Oooo! Nice meshing goin on. Sounds likes things are working splendidly for you and I'm so glad. I think DD's pic on the wall is a wonderful touch.

Whatever canine addition you bring to your home, check on the shedding factor. Honest to goodness, I love my two pugs and always wanted a pug, but I sure didn't realize how much they shed....drives me nuts.

I asked who was in it, it looks like an urn

LMAO!!!!!! That sounds like something I would ask.

What I found is that if you choose one or two really important things of his and they get displayed nicely without all the other clutter it actually looks nice. I was shocked to discover that his piece of Roman pottery actually looks good when displayed right. And he loves that now you can walk in and really see and appreciate it rather than having to look for it.
