M told me that his girls are dying to meet us and they are curious to see whose head has turned Daddy. So M decided to ask me very cautiously (lol), if we could get together for dinner before he left for the beach today (he'll be gone 5 days). I thought about it and my two DD's have been really wanting to meet his kids, so I said, ok, but let us really keep this only for the girls, no hand holding or give them any impression that we are nothing more then just friends.
I know M doesn't make a ton of money and neither do I, so I told him I thought we should keep the expense down of an expensive dinner of 6 so we decided to bbq at his house. We already both had food and drinks so the only cost was gas.
Last night we drove out into the country and went to his house. I loved his place. The reason being, It felt like my home. It just looked like a single Dad's home with children. And because of his girls, it looks just like my place. Bits and pieces here to make it comfortable and lived in. Not contemporary/modern/expensive like the others I have dated with glass, white and beige furniture, etc. etc. It just felt like a loving home. He has over an acre of open yard in the country that is just great for kids to run around in. When the kids met, they instantly CLICKED. They ran off within a minute of introductions. We didn't seem them the entire time until dinner. We ate dinner and laughed about all this different stuff. His kids and I hit it off so well (wonderfully behaved and good natured) and then we went outside to play some soccer and his oldest DD said, we need a volleyball. Well.. it just so happens I have an entire volleyball set in my car, so I made M set it up at 9pm in the dark. LOL. We ended up playing for an hour and had the time of our life. By the time we left, everyone was hugging everyone and the girls already made a whole bunch of plans of what we need to be doing together in the next few weeks. So far we have a softball game planned, another bbq and a pool party. LOL. M and I just looked at each other with a sigh of relief that they got along so fantastic. I really didn't think it would go THAT well. It didn't even instantly click like that with my XF's kids. It took about 24 hours, but this was GREAT! Before I left, M said, this just checks of a mile stone for me. I agreed, hugged him good-night and told him "see ya next week"....

What a relief! Sounds like it went very well and I'm so glad! Glad that you told him that it was about the girls that night.

Sounds like things are going super! Now you get a few days by yourself. :)
