I just CANNOT wait til my date on Saturday with S! LOL!

It's hard not to rush full tilt into things- I've never done the slow and calculated thing before, so this is quite new to me...

That is good that you have clarified things. We will have to develop a visual to keep you slow. It is very good you are letting him initiate contact and dates - I think you should keep it that way until he does want to date exclusively.

I would not go too overboard with the dinner - make it casual - not like you were shopping and cooking and cleaning and decorating and tablesetting all day for him because that will freak him out so soon. More like you heated something up or put it together fast. I would change out the canneloni for penne or spaghetti.

Like I tell the puppies when they start to run too fast - HO!

Well, he did cook and clean and set the table for me... with candles even... when we had dinner, so I don't think he'll be worried about overboard...

But yes, I will let him set the pace- as you say, expect nothing and the rest is just gravy!!!

As for the other prospects... A has asked me out a few times since Saturday's dinner- I was unable to go... I don't want to see him romantically, but I did enjoy his sense of humour, so I would like to become friends with him- how the heck do I do that?

I don't think you can say you want a friendship when he is so obviously interested on a romantic level. I think it is best to cut him loose so he can find mutual attraction.

"Well, he did cook and clean and set the table for me... with candles even... when we had dinner, so I don't think he'll be worried about overboard..."

BUT he did that to show off and appease his male ego. Which is a very good thing and a whole separate issue.

But I think you still have to take it easy so you don't scare him off. Casual. Like you are a good cook making a quick meal because he is stopping by. NOT like you are auditioning for Stepford Wife!

I'm thrilled for you- and really liking what you write about S. I especially like the sense of humor he has, and that he's going slowly.

Have fun with him, and with OLD!!

Moody, happy the sun is finally shining
