Have fun this weekend, isysmoon!

Nothing big planned here this weekend.

The kids have a 3-day weekend (today is a snow day we never used) and we're just hanging out. I'm trying to remember that it's Friday and not a Saturday because it sure FEELS like a Saturday so far!

Last night we went to the Pinning Ceremony for the local ADN nursing school. It's the one I work for, but my cousin was also graduating, so I got the honor of pinning her. :-) That was very cool. What I also liked about it was that my aunt had called me and asked me to invite Hiker to come, too. I hadn't invited him, as he doesn't know my cousin. And I didn't think he would be interested, to go and sit and watch all these people he doesn't know, getting pinned for something he doesn't have a part of. His only link would be through me, and I wouldn't even be able to sit with him because I had to sit someplace else for the pinning!

But I asked him... and he said he'd come!!! Surprised me! But I'm glad he wanted to come. I surely gave him an "out" and explained that he didn't have to come if he didn't want to. So I was carpooling everyone last night- bringing the kids (our usual babysitter couldn't babysit- she had her own event to go to), picked up Dad, then went and picked up Hiker.

Things went great (crazy/silly that I would tear up through the entire thing- but I'd helped most of those student when they were still "baby nursing students" back when they were just starting out- so it was cool to see them graduating now). Then we all went out to dinner. Hiker came with us for that, too. Always the quiet man, always the gentleman. Helped me keep the kids occupied when I was busy, but otherwise- just there to be with me. Makes me feel so secure inside. :-)

Later today, another appointment and quote from another foundation company... and I will finally make a decision who to pick. It's time to get the repair work started, and hopefully get it all

My weekend... boo hiss!

I was planning on getting a weekend away in Steamboat Springs, but I came down with a knock-ya-flat cold, and had to cancel my tickets and hotel reservations.

No big plans for the weekend--there is a carnival at the ballpark that the kids and I talked about going to Sat. and I thought about going to the zoo on Sunday but we'll have to wait and see on that--it is supposed to rain Sunday but it's too early for the forecast to tell me hour by hour when it'll be raining--it does look like all day but I am hoping not!

I had a great date last night--we ended up just hanging out and talking...I can tell he misses home.

Auugghhh! Spoke too soon- and jinxed myself!

As I was going laundry this morning... water started leaking out from beneath my wood laminate at the edge where it meets up with my dining area tile. UGH!!!!!

So there IS a leak in there! Or the plumbers who came out and said there wasn't a leak... actually might've made whatever leak there, bigger. Or something.

Now I'm not sure if I even want to call that same plumber back out again- if they didn't actually even diagnose the problem correctly! I'm asking around for opinions of local folks...

Until then, I will have to do laundry at my Dad's... and figure out the whole ordeal of cutting into the foundation in the middle of my house- to fix that leak, repair that part of the foundation... and then STILL have to deal with the outer walls and that part of the foundation!

Is it too late to go back to apartment living?!?!? (Which I would NOT go back to, if I can help it- despite all of THIS)

Since I made the decision yesterday to "relieve" the ex from any responsibility to her, I am now picking her up from school. So yesterday I picked her up and took her to the Discg Golf course. She moaned for

KarateMan just called and he wants to take me to dinner tomorrow. He was SO NICE on the phone and so funny and he loves what I say - just very positive and inquisitive about me. He said he can pick me up if I like or if I feel more comfortable meeting him that is fine and he picked the nicest dinner place - it is sort of in an upscale artsy area and has great galleries. And they have good food and dancing and he said if I want to dance we can. And he mentioned another area and I said I would go there too - so he said that we have date number 3 planned as well. LOL!!

Tonight I have kids over and am cooking. Sat and Sun mornings my coach has me busy with all kinds of stuff.

Sunday I am cooking at my sister's house for my family to get together.
