Hey West....I had a great weekend with the exception of a migraine yesterday....boo, right?
I had two inspections on my new house and they both came back super clean which was astounding and wonderful. It seems there is very little to do unless we want to. We have plenty of things we would like to do like rip up carpets ( there are floor underneath!) and paint so we talked a lot and planned this weekend about what should happen first and costs, etc. We also ate out this weekend TWICE which we havent done in months. It was nice though because DS is coming home today from the beach with the other side of his family so we will have gotten some date time in before his return!! He hasnt seen the house we are buying yet so it will be exciting to show him.
I had two sips of beer that triggered a migraine on Sat night so unfortunately I spent yesterday teaching 6 and a half hours with a migraine which was hideous. It started going away at night once I got quiet and stopped working for a few hours. Then we watched National Treasure which I have never seen and I really liked it- I think DS would love it too. We are watching the second one tonight since SYB did extra work in it so we are going to see if we can spot him:)
How did your weekend go?

Wow City - "It seems there is very little to do unless we want to." EXCELLENT! I think this one turned out to be quite a good deal from what you have written. What a pleasant surprise!!

I cannot imagine doing anything with a migraine - never mind teaching music - ouch!! That is crazy that the beer would trigger it - but I have read that those susceptible to migraines do have certain trigger foods, and fermented ones, such as beer, are commonly on those lists. I wonder if cheese is problematic as well?

It is refreshing to hear that you and SYB got some date time in - and that DS will be back just in time to get updated on the new house - what a great step you are taking for all of you!! "It seems there is very little to do unless we want to." THAT is a great way to go!!

Things were pretty quiet here. I spent all day Saturday trying to get my training done - the weather here was really crazy with lots of storms and there was a trip to the mall near the pool while I was waiting for one to pass - and I got some great deals on shoes. And DS and I went to visit my parents and had dinner with them. They gave him some jello mixes so yesterday we had an experiment with orange jello and green jello and had that for dessert last night. DS was proud of himself. I have been working on teaching him how to cook and bake this summer. So far he can make cookies and pasta dishes from scratch.

DS's kayak came in - and so we went to pick it up. He got to meet KM - but just as friends for right now because KM and I want to keep things fun for DS and not burden him with anything else and the day turned out so fun for all. KM is friends with a boat manufacturer and so he got this very special boat for free for us since it is the end of the year. DS was over the moon with it and KM let him try one of his racing boats and it was fun to watch DS turn and paddle around so well. And last night DS and I took our boats out here by ourselves on a pond near our house - it was great fun!! Although I was really shelled from a hard 3 hour ride that started my Sunday and had no trouble falling asleep.

KM and I have a date planned for tomorrow. So far we have done really well at putting our schedules together and that means a lot to me - that two people can make time for each other and at the same time keep the important things in their lives going. Today he is taking his dad out to get his hair cut and a manicure and to dinner. He really loves his dad and I really admire how he much he cares for him and his daughter. He always has great stories about everything he and his dad did while growing up.

Today started with a little mess - one of the dogs dumped a whole bowl of water in his crate and so I had a mini swimming pool to clean up, complete with pieces of food - ick!!

"And - get this - the eCommerce stuff worked the first try."

WOWZA - very good - you are right that never usually happens on the first try - and never mind when you had to clean up someone else's mess of code - good stuff!!

I am laughing about your DS14 and his computer - he is amazing with his skills - even if there was a little whoopsie of boot sector mangling!! LOL!!

At work, my boss asked everyone to take the Myers Briggs personality test (for forming teams and such)... i always love those things... So i was talking about it with DD15 and we found the website and she took it. She was just as fascinated with it as i was and got DS14 to take it too. He was such a funny one, making jokes about every question... "what does 'improvisation' mean" and "why couldn't the test maker use plain english"...lol.... because if you've taken those tests you know how many big words are in it... lol...

I was surprised that my daughter, who seems very outgoing, got a high score of "introversion" and my son, who's always been shy as a little boy, got 50\50 leaning more toward "extraversion"... I'm guessing my daugther is like me... she'll be shy until she is more confident and comfortable with herself. We have rare personalities, which for me just made me feel abnormal.... and like i didn't fit in. When i took my test, it is no surprise that i scored high on Extraversion this time around... a complete opposite to when i was in highschool \ college. And i'm always surprised that i don't score an "artisan" personality and instead score a "scientist"... (i think i'm a unique combo of both). Anyway, i told her these things change on any given day so she wouldn't feel locked into a personality but instead feels great about her individuality. She said she had a great day spending so much time looking all that stuff up together on the internet.

Then we also watched 4 episodes of Smallville. I'm renting the entire series starting from episode 1. AND the littler ones must go to the pool every weekend. I'm sick of it already but i know they have so much fun. That was my weekend (other than the karaoke contest).

I am so glad to hear that the baby is doing so well--I haven't had a lot of time to comment on your posts but I have been trying to follow the story a bit--how wonderful that she is doing well! My brother--the one who was given up for adoption--had some type of heart surgery as a baby (he doesn't know what--records weren't kept)

My parents came down Saturday to talk to me about law school and to deliver my daughters, very early, birthday/christmas present--my Dad built her a bed that she helped design. There are drawers underneath so she doesn't need a dresser and there are cubbyholes in the headboard with hinged doors the swings down to become a writing desk--one of these days I will post a pic--it is gorgeous (pine and walnut--beautiful!)
