Hi to all and Happy Mother's Day!!
1) What are you doing for Mother's Day?
2) What is your favorite Mother's Day memory?
Enjoy your special day!!!!!!!
Here is a poem for all of you:
God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

1) What are you doing for Mother's Day?
The first thing on the agenda this weekend is to clean/organize this house!! I have been in a whirlwind all week at work with a ton of projects and trying to mentally and physically recover from my half ironman in St. Croix.
I will spend time with my mom and sister - we will probably go to the beach. DS says he wants to spend the whole weekend with me. He and I will go to the sales office to pick out the pool and pay the deposit. He is so excited about that.
Oh - and I have another 2 half ironman races to train for so I have told my family the only thing I want for a gift is 2 hours to be able to ride my bike!! :-)
2) What is your favorite Mother's Day memory?
Mother's day for me now is the memory of the birth of my son. I will never forget how special I felt when they placed him on my stomach and I just cuddled him. That didn't happen on mother's day - but it put me into the honorable league of mothers!!
I think this year is going to be the most special for me. For some reason, the dust has just settled from the divorce for me and my family. My ex travels a lot for work - but he takes ds and has fun with him when he is in town and basically stays out of my hair. My parents are at peace with it now and happy I am doing well with my business. And my sister is actually calling to coordinate family/holiday plans with me instead of dictating what she wants. I don't know how all this happened - but I will enjoy the joy for now.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL MOM'S!!!!
1) What are you doing for Mother's Day? - I am NOT sure at all yet. I have a very dear friend flying in this weekend to visit. So, it's a little different having company. Also have my BIL and SIL staying with us for at least one night. Maybe two. I know DH wants to go to church. I know he's got a lot going on, and aside from a few cards from he and DS, I may get much for mom's day. He also knows that I'll be concentrating on company. He did say that there were several things he wanted to "get" me for Mothers Day. But I told him last night I want nothing. Just want him (with ds's help of course) to make me dinner. He said ok. But asked if it was ok if it was some time during the week instead of ON mom's day. I hestitated. Said that would be ok, since I realize I can't have it all, and this is a weird week.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE!!!
Thank you for sharing that sweet poem, Judy.
I'll be studying for mother's day.
My favorite, most memorable mother's day was my first one as a mother. I had been married less than a year and I had twin baby girls. They were so tiny. In those days, Sundays were a fun time for me. They are amongst the few good memories I have of my marriage. My husband would go out early to the bakery and get muffins and decaf coffee for me and we would just hang out in bed for hours. I'd read The New York Times and just take turns latching babies onto me and then laying them down on the bed with us so they could go back to sleep. So my first mother- mother's day was one of those special days.
Was there another question? I forget. Anyway, it was nice to have that memory again. It wasn't all bad, I guess.
