Just a big happy HUG to all of you. ;)
Did you all get your kids a little something? I've been SO SO sick lately. Bronchitis is better, but the morning sickness is really taking hold. ANd last night (after vomiting the speck of dinner I ate) I remembered I'd nothing for Ty in the morning. He ALWAYS has a little Valentines surprise waiting for him in the morning.
So, out to walgreen's I went. A tiny box of chocolates and a cute stuffed animal (he STILL loves that) and a card. He was thrilled. Doesn't take much. I know he won't always be this easy. I wish he'd stay 10! ;)

My kids are more interested in having things to give to friends than in getting something from me, so this year our valentine's party at church will be how we mark the day.
That sounds fun Candi. What a neat thing. I've never attended a church that cared one way or the other about the day.
Tonight is family night for us. Ty's being silly (I think. For
Happy Valentines Day to you!
Big hug!
I did get each of my kids a little box of chocolates and a card. You're right, they're easy at this age! But of course they got candy from my SO's mom too, which I should have known. Trying to cut down on the sweets is tough!
My daughter made us each little coupon books. Mine had things like "Give 1 kiss, get 2 free". Very cute! Of course the one she made her brother had one for "24 hours of video games", not sure if she meant 24 hours straight but he takes it that way of course. I had to be the bad guy. haha.
Hope you feel better soon!
Hugs

I hope you feel better - being sick is no fun never mind when you are preggo!! I remember that I had a cold and it took forever to get rid of. I also had horrible morning sickness so I really send sympathy for that!! You poor thing.
I made custom valentine cards for my ds - we made a puzzle using puzzlemaker.com that has all the kids and teachers in his class names. We usually make a puzzle like that and the kids love it. It actually saves time and money because he doesn't have to sign/address them - and I can print them from home.
I also made cookies to take to his class. He has a peanut allergy so this is special because it is something he CAN eat and he loves having me here.
For his present when he gets home I got him some of those conversation hearts.
My son is 8 and he is so sweet - if only he would always stay this way.
Hugs and Happy V-Day to everyone!!
Boy, I feel bad after reading everyone's response. I think this is the first time that I actually didn't get my kids anything for Valentines Day. But, I did take the morning off to be with them at school for their party. I made treat bags for all the class and a cake. They get soooo much candy and stuff from school that I just didn't want to get them anything else. They also got bags from their dad this weekend. It must not have bothered them, because neither of them asked why I didn't get them anything.
Happy Valentines Day!
Donna
Oh Gosh, Donna, you DID do something for AND with them. Making treat bags for their whole class and then being there is huge. I don't know if my kid would like that this year (getting pretty big for his britches) but any time before this he'd have LOVED it.
DH just called me asking what kind of "TShirt" Tyler would prefer and rattled off some choices????? Odd. He must be doing some actual valentines gift shopping. I've NEVER done gifts beyond some cutsey animal and chocolates. I wonder if I am getting anything? ;)
My son was so worried that he wouldn't received any Valentine's Day cards today at school. He's 6. I reassured him he would, but he was afraid no one would like him enough to give him one. So we went out to the bus stop today and the little neighbor girl gave him a card. I had a big smile on my face as I told the little girl's grandmother the whole story of my son fearing not getting a Valentine. I turned around and asked to see his Valentine. He said he gave it back, he didn't like "Bratz" that was for girls. So much for his fears.
I ended up getting the kids a toy each. A My Little Pony doll for my daughter and a Megaman action figure for my son. They both flipped out when I gave them their gifts and it made me so happy. I tried to stay away from the candy since my daughter brought home more than enough to feed a small country from her preschool's party on Friday. I'm still on a sugar high just from being around all that candy.
So this has been a great day!

Good to hear your children made your day. Same with me!
