OMG Priscilla, I about fell off my chair as I read this post - for so many reasons. My heart goes out to you - I can't imagine my son making a decision like that without me, sending him off to war and being so scared of the consequences of his decision. I wish there was something you could do to change that - or something we could do to help you know he will be safe. I guess all any of us can do is pray.
Our hearts are with you!! Keep us posted, okay?
We need an end to that war - and soon!!
Just always, always be very proud of your son. And tell him I thank him for making such a huge step of bravery. I know I

Oh, Priscilla, I can't imagine what is going on in your head and heart.
It must be scary for you Priscilla.
I agree with Mark and Moon and also send along my thoughts and prayers.
I feel for you Priscilla... it's so hard to have a child do anything that makes us worry no matter how old they are.

((((HUGS)))) I too have a 19 year old son and although all male members of my family have served in the military going back to the Revolutionary War, I am so grateful neither of my sons is going to go in that direction. Of course you will be supportive of his choice, but I have to say, if a person is not considered mature enough to handle alcohol at 18, why is an 18 year old considered mature enough to go to war? Many young people thrive in the structured environment of the military, I hope that is the case for your son. I will pray for his safety along with all of the other sons of friends who are currently over in Iraq.
