Sounds like a really fun vacation. I agree that Hawaii is very romantic--my honeymoon for my 2nd marriage was there for a week but we only spent 1/2 of it on Oahu & the 1/2 on the Big Island. Your class reunions are much more ambitious than ours--we just have one night event, not a whole weekend. But a friend of mine who is from Miami has a cruise. I guess if you live in a vacation destination people will be more likely to come back for a big event.

i wanted to drive around the island... but i'm guessing since this was EC first trip, he was content to stay near Waikiki. We almost got into an arguement about which beach to go to ... seems like a silly arguement... But I let it go. I'd been all around the island before so if he didn't want to see it, i wasn't going to make him. But we did decide that since there was sooo much to do, we'd need to plan another Hawaiian vacation real soon. (i'm hoping to bring all the children next time, but we'll see)

part 2....

Day 6 cont.- Submarine Tour. On this day, i took a dramamine. if you've ever taken one then perhaps you can relate to what i'm saying...i didn't want to get sea sick but the dramamine made me sleepy and lethargic. EC loved the sub tour. He loves fish and animal stuff like that.... I thought it was neat to be in a sub. neat to descend 100 ft below sea level. but i wasn't as impressed with the experience.... perhaps it was the dramamine. We saw a lot of fish, two green sea turtles, three rays.... and even a shark. and we learned a lot about the reefs from the tour guide. I took a little nap before dinner and felt a lot better.

The Dinner cruise was on the Navatek I. A very smooth ride. I skipped the dramamine hehehe. Dinner was fantastic. We sailed beyond Diamond Head to the other side of the island. I ate a whole lobster for the first time ever (even though all ya really eat is the tail and claws). The view out the window was unbelievable. Then we went up on deck to watch the sun set. Great experience. The service was so great it felt like royalty. EC wasn't interested in the hula show or singing but i danced the Cupid Shuffle on the boat. And we also slow danced. very romantic :)

Night 6 - after the cruise, we met up with another friend of mine for Karaoke hawaiian style. It was neat to hear folks sing hawaiian songs. I sang an old fave "Honolulu City Lights". EC sang his usual rock and

yes the reunion was very ambitious. and lots of fun. There were 45 raffle prizes and silent auction prizes include 4 hotel stays (average value $550 ea). I wanted to bid on those but since i was only there for a week, i wouldn't have been able to use the certificates. Most of those sold for 1/2 off. Cool, huh. Like i mentioned... we raise over $5000 so hopefully there will be a 25th reunion.

But the 20th reunion continues in Vegas this October. EC and I are considering going for a weekend. Flights to Vegas are a lot cheaper than to Hawaii... so we'll see.
