Not stinking drunk, but you could certainly smell the beer on his breath.

Question: You said ... Not stinking drunk, but you could certainly smell the beer on his breath.
No...unfortunately, he would NEVER drink just one beer.
Kim
Kim, if he gets pulled over with her in the car, then he'll just have to face how foolish he is behaving. And he'll have to explain himself to his daughter.
If you feel he isn't dangerous, then I'd hope the he does get caught. BUT if you really feel he's driving intoxicated, I'd make a serious plea to a judge to be certain that he doesn't drive her around. Period. Her life is more important than driving around with Dad.
I am sorry. I do understand your explanation of the difference between a beer smell and an "all day boozy" smell. It makes sense.
You do have to protect your dd from a drunk driver, even if it is her dad. It sounds to me like he has a drinking problem.
You should do more research to find out what legal routes you have. And to find out what he is doing - is he driving like that with her in the car? A counselor might be able to guide you on how to approach him.
At any rate, you are better off to act now than be sorry later.
With a court order? I am so sorry! I have no suggestions because I know people like that and i would be asking the same question. But offering lots of hugs to you! I am sorry your ex is such a jerk. Drinking/addiction is so bad. Glad mine is out of my hair because I couldn't deal with that. I'd probably flee the country!
