Hello everyone, I'm new here.

I'm only recently separated (my choice), I moved out of our house just over 3 weeks ago. He did not want to move out (neither did I really!) & I did not want an argument so I left.
We let out 3 children choose what they wanted to do, naturally out older teens (19.5 & 17.5) chose to stay in our lovely big house . Although I must admit our 19.5 year old spends more time at her boyfriend's house than our house anyway. Our youngest dd (12) chose to spend alternate weeks with each of us.
We had been married for 21 years (living together over 22), however there has been no intimacy or affection for a long, LONG time. I'm looking forward to dating again, although it terrifies me! :o)

Hi & Welcome!
Hi and welcome! I was married for 21 years and divorced 6 years ago. I know how hard it was to move out. I did the same thing so I didn't have to uproot the kids to an apartment. I hope you and your ex stay on good terms. It makes things so much easier on EVERYBODY!!
Dating has been an "adventure". The only thing I would suggest is wait awhile before you start dating. I started dating 5 months after my divorce and it was ONE of the stupidest things I have ever done.
Stick around. The ladies here have so much knowledge and are a very supportive bunch!

I'm not planning on dating straight away, I just wanted to see how it's done! LOL
Mom_uk2socal- I'm feeling emotionally starved too- I know exactly what you mean! Emotionally I've been gone from my marriage for years, so I don't feel like I have JUST left.
I work in a school as a Finance Officer. I have moved to a lovely 3 bedroom courtyard home. It's only a 5min drive from my OTHER house & close to lots of my youngest dd's friends. I love it here.
Whereabouts in the UK were you from? I was actually born in the UK (Dartford, Kent) & moved here when I was 3 :o)
The kids are coping really well. Our youngest has if anything been enthusiastic about the changes! LOL Our 17 year old ds has been the most upset. I'm hoping dh & I can continue to get on ok. If things get nasty it won't be my doing. We'll just have to wait & see.
