Hi, Brian! Welcome!
Single mom no more - happily married the second time around, with *his*, step son 20, step daughter 18, *mine*, 6 and *ours* 2 . . . Still hanging around. We live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I was just in Chandler, AZ over the weekend - driving through to Tucson - and we stopped at the Wendy's off of Chandler Blvd. for lunch with our friends who live in Gilbert. That place is GROWING, GROWING!

Hi Brian :) Glad you have joined us. This is a great board! My question is are you dating? This board has parents who were formerly dating, are living with SO, in a committed relationship, just starting to date, and taking a break from dating.
For those of you who are wondering, and since I posted below about the duplicate universe with the single parents and dating board - I had read Brian's profile and that is how I discovered the single parents board exists.
Well, I've been dating off and on since my separation about 3 years ago...with my divorce finally final, I feel it is really time to find a GF in earnest.
I do most of my "screening" via the internet....I don't have the time, or the BS $$ for a lot of just going out to meet people. But this week will be an exception, since I haven't been away from the kids for about 7 weeks now. I'm getting a *little* punchy.
Of the 8 or nine women that I've dated since the separation, most have been in the "fun date" category. None have been in the "serious-possibility" category.
But spring hopes eternal....or something like that.
If you read through the history, you'll see more than you ever wanted to know about my saga. I have a bf but he's gone through a long custody battle to keep his ds from being moved away, and he lost (despite having the better attorney and the better legal stance). Our relationship has a lot of positives (and so does he) but his depression from his son moving away, and his ex doing what she can to keep him from having any visits, is too much sometimes. Plus there is a chance he will end up moving to where they are if he can find a job there and if he believes he stands a chance at getting more parenting time than is in the current order. At any point the relationship can go sour or turn out to have a positive future. I have no idea.
I wish you luck in your search :)
Oh wow - tell us what the difference is here:
"Of the 8 or nine women that I've dated since the separation, most have been in the "fun date" category. None have been in the "serious-possibility" category."
WHAT makes them in the serious-possibility category for you?????
Tell us!!
(HI and welcome to our board!)
I'll have to be quick about this....
The fun-date category is exactly that...they are fun to be around, but not real candidates for being the next wife or step-mom. They lack responsibility, or in some cases are a bit selfish about me accepting their kids, while mine are *my* problem.
The serious-possibiltiy is the fun-date with the potential for a great wife/step-mom added in.
Gotta go get my kids!
Hi Brian!
Um...what is PCP?
Kim
I think that's primary custodial parent?

Hello Kim...
Yeah, Chandler has been getting rained on pretty heavy...I've pumped down my pool once already, and I need to do it again.
I've had some yard work that needed to be done, but it's too muddy...
go figure.
Whereabouts in Phoenix?
