Looking to see if you're around today.
I just got up and I'm going to get ready to go out and hang out at Barnes and Noble (I do that all the time, West...never yet met anyone there, but I love to read the books and magazines and have a good cup of chai or coffee).
I have decided we're having Mexican for Christmas. We don't like turkey and we had ham, traditional, stuff for Thanksgiving when my brother was here. Ever since the posada service I've had a craving for good tostadas, so I'm going to fix a bunch of them.
I wonder what dessert I want to have. I'm not wild about flan...maybe some cake. Hey I think I'll get a PINATA! :)
FELIZ NAVIDAD! y PROSPERO AN(tilda)O!

OH, I am SO not just being nice. This is for me, too. Remember, I'm not happy unless I'm doing my part to save the world! :) I need to be giving back or I don't enjoy what I have, and I have a lot. I have people in my life who are encouraging me and I have opportunities to do the things I want with my life.
I don't know if I posted this or not, but a couple of months ago I saw a crew of hispanic workers pouring and smoothing a concrete foundation here in town, and one white guy standing watching them work. I was pumping gas for my van, and I couldn't tear my eyes away. It reminded me of the plantations or something. I wanted to talk to those workers, know where they were from and how they came here, and I wanted to help them advance themselves. I know they got paid pennies compared to mr. I'll watch YOU work.
It was a couple of weeks after that I started hearing about the hispanic church. I am not gushy about religion, but I just feel that a seed was planted that day and now it's coming up out of the ground. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the guys in my class were on that same crew I watched. I feel I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. NOthing could be better.
