Aww - you guys are too sweet - just got in and am working on catching up the piles of work around here. Thanks for asking!

I had a great time and a great race. The swim start was awesome - we had a mass start with 2000 people and I did great - loved it. Rode 112 miles in the heat - 3 loops with a headwind up a 10 mile hill and felt strong the whole way.

BUT - had a whoops - was coming out of the changing tent from the bike to the run and didn't see a water bottle and rolled my right ankle. At first I said - no big deal get up and keep going - but could not stand up and had to go to the med tent. They taped it and said maybe I could walk it but I said no - because that would mean leaving DS on the run course for too many hours and I didn't want to limp 26 miles - I trained to RUN it - so will do it again!

It was a great atmosphere and I had so much fun with seeing old friends and all the activities and my coach and other athlete friends. And DS and I had a ball together - I took him out to dinner and everywhere I went and he was a hit - everyone loved him - and he took great pix of me. He had to figure out my timing with the loops and did great with that.

And I am probably going to be single the rest of my life - because the guys there are so fit and so fun and so positive - the ones here on OLD simply do not compare - and I love the IM distance and that probably makes me an extreme sports freak but oh well!

Am trying to figure out right now how I can swing the next race in AZ which is in November - they have 2 this year because they are switching the date from April to November......

It is okay. The thing is - that is a huge amount of distance and a long day and I was not sure how it would all go - so set out to do as much as I can and see if I like it and want to do more. I surprised myself on the swim and the bike and know I can do the run - so do want to do more.

I also learned a lot and made notes for the next one - about which races to pick, what to wear, what to eat and drink, how to ride, etc.....

And I am in great shape - so it is all good.

Thanks, Soonee!

The ankle is okay - a little swelling from being on the plane. I have a brace on it and am taking it easy. I can swim and bike with it now and maybe run in 2 weeks. So no worries. My coach wants me to take a few weeks easy to recover and so I am working on getting stuff done while I can.
