Been away for a while. Been busy at work and my home computer is unhooked because yes, once again, I'm working on my house.
I've been dropping in now and again to take a peek to see how everyone's doing. I'm pretty much still the same, but my daughter is ungrounded and has her phone back but I still worry like heck every time she's out of the house. But, she is doing WONDERFUL in the school that she transferred to. Matter of fact, my mom made the comment that she seems a little calmer.
I had a phone call from my "once in a blue moon" man last Wednesday. I hadn't heard from him in just over a year. I keep him at arm's length as he's not very dependable. One thing I've learned from here...."here now, ready now" and he's definitely not that. He's fun to talk to every now and again and that's pretty much it.
Glad to see everyone's still here and some new faces too!!

Hi Emma - good to see you stop by and glad to get your update - they are always fun to get. It is a relief your daughter is doing well in her new school - I remember that was a big-to-do because your exh did not want her to switch and it was all a big step. But I remember it was one she wanted and that has to count a lot! Good to hear it worked and that you listened to her. Hopefully it all just gets better from here.
Glad to hear, too, that the once in a blue moon has that category - it is easier to put them where they belong rather than hope for them to change when they won't!!
Hi Emma!
Stephanie
Nice to see your post... I've been wonderin' about ya!
I'm glad that things with your dd have settled a bit. And Mr Blue Moon- well, good conversation is great but where on earth does he go for hi one year haiatus lol? I'm hoping someone else comes along slightly more available!!
How is the house coming along?
I've painted my kitchen red. When they say it's a hard color to paint believe it. I thought I was going to cry after the first coat. It took 3 coats to even out. Luckily it's a small area. Ended up making my cabinets look better so it was worth the headache.
I picked out a color for my living/dining room and may be getting that this weekend. If not, definitely at least getting the ceiling painted. The walls throughout the house look so yucky I'm painting them just so I can cheer the place up a little until I can get to them. I also have to refinish my front porch floor and would like to get that done before mid April. Trying to decide on a color for the floor. I've been thinking a pale yellow color. It gets so dusty out there I'm afraid it would look dirty all the time.
In between painting, I'm cleaning out my daughters old bedroom so I can start taking the paneling down and seeing how bad it is underneath. Probably end up tearing the room down to the studs which is usually best anyway. I LOVE tearing stuff up! There is paneling hung over plaster walls and a funky dropped ceiling throughout the whole house. I'm going to investigate all this in my dd's old bedroom to see what I'm up against.
I've put on a Nicoderm patch and am going to have to throw myself into things. I hope I can hang on this time. Usually, my daughter gets into some kind of trouble and I end up going back to smoking. Another reason for me to get my computer hooked back up at home so I can come here and see what you guys are up to when the urge to smoke hits me. This board has been moving really fast lately I can't keep up!
