So, girls, does anyone here have fun holiday plans coming up?
Are you doing something fun with your SO/kids?
Any hot parties or nights out?
What are you doing for the weekend?

I have an adults only semi-formal party to go to, but not until January. I actually bought a new black dress and purse last night which is unlike me - but they were cute, on sale and I sort of needed one. I only have two other nice dresses - and they are both sleeveless - I needed one for winter.

I'm wondering if HN is going to stop by at the end of the work day to ask me to join him for happy hour/dinner.

If he does I'll go out with him for a little while - if he doesn't I'm going Christmas shopping tonight. My kids are with their dad this weekend so I'm trying to finish my shopping - at least their gifts. Next weekend the three of us will go pick out our Christmas tree and we have a neigborhood family Christmas party to go to.

Well, my DD is with her father this weekend, so since she is only 16 months old and cannot help too much with the decorating yet, I am going to get our tree up and everything decorated to surprise her when she gets home. I am going to go out and buy her a special Christmas ornament today after work and wrap it. When she gets home on Sunday, we'll unwrap it together and I'll make her feel like she is helping Mommy by helping her hang it on the tree!

There is a beautiful light display that they have around here that I will take her to one night before the holiday. She thinks the lights are pretty.

Other than that, no major plans! Just enjoying the beauty of the season!

I also have holiday lights to see this Saturday. My brother and his girlfriend moved here last week, so we are going out tonight. Dinner with the children first, then I'm planning to show him all the great hangouts. I'm happy that I convinced my mom to babysit... so I could save on some money. (well not really since I'm buying my brother dinner tonight too..lol) This is the first time she's babysitting since she moved out over a month ago.

On Saturday, the children and I are seeing a Holiday Parade with my brother, then driving thru the Holiday Lights display.

On Dec 12th I have a Christmas Dinner and hope I can manage to mingle with the single guys. Atleast I have a reason to dress up. One of the guys I had a crush on for months and then found out he had a girlfriend. I wonder if he still does or not. Anyway, looking forward to that dinner.

On the dating front... met someone online and we are currently exchanging emails. I'll let you know if it turns into a date. He's 40, and a marine.

Have a great weekend ALL.

Love,
Loonybunny

December is gonna be a swirl... and it's going to go FAST.

I have plans to go to a company Christmas party with Hiker (his company). I have plans to go with Hiker to Dallas one weekend to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert (woohoooo!). I have plans to spend a week in Vegas the week of Christmas, with Hiker- just the 2 of us. :-)

In the middle of all that, MonkeyBunny has a holiday concert at school- it should be SO cute!! The kids will have their Christmas parties at school before they get out for the rest of the year. And like we do every year, I will drive the kids around town looking at Christmas lights. Not sure yet if we will go visit with Santa at the mall or not. I still need to put up the tree, but hopefully I will have that done by the end of the weekend. The kids are supposed to go spend their 2 weeks break with their dad, but I'm not sure if that will happen or not. If they don't, then my Mom will keep them for the week I'm in Vegas.

I also have a trip to the dentist, the dog has a trip to the vet, and somewhere in there, there will be many opportunities to make holiday cookies! It'll be January 2007 before I know it.

Tonight, Hiker is coming over with sushi and we'll be watching the Dallas Mavs game. :-)

~shrimpy, too busy to sleep sometimes...

Just had to chime in that is most impressive he is taking you to the company holiday party- a very good thing indeed!!!! And you two have quite a few "make ahead" plans coming up - also very good!! Way to go Shrimps! Also sounds like you are busy but fun busy with kids stuff. Enjoy!

I have 2 athlete holiday parties to attend. Plus I am throwing a party at my house for DS - because he goes away with his dad up north for Xmas this year. Usually this is hard on me - but I have the 2 puppies now - so don't feel lonely - and will make good use of the time.

My friends are getting together tomorrow evening as well.

My shopping is done and the tree is up so I am in easy mode now.

Drats- had to cancel the date with Hiker at the last minute...

MonkeyButt threw up *right* as he started his dinner. Poor thing! He seemed FINE all afternoon after school. Even snacked okay. But come dinnertime... he took maybe 2-3 bites and then told me he didn't feel like eating anymore. And before he could even finish the bite he had in his mouth- he told me he felt sick. My Mommy-gut alarm went off and told him to go to the bathroom if he felt sick- and sure enough... he threw up soon after he gets in there. :-(

So I called Hiker and told him what was up- and told him that having him come over might not be the best idea, just in case MonkeyButt throws up some more- and I'm spending time cleaning beds and floors instead of spending time with him. He was disappointed, as was I- but he understands, and we'll try again for tomorrow night, even though there won't be any NBA game to watch (at least none of our teams are playing). Maybe we'll rent a movie instead.

But anyway, I hope the kid(s) are fine tomorrow and it doesn't end up being a nasty bug that gets passed around! (sprinkling the magic dust around liberally) I got the kids to bed just fine without any more exploding incidents, and now I'm watching the NBA by myself. Did a workout partway through (because Dallas Mavs are SOO far ahead) and then I put the game back on again. Soon I'll grab a shower and work on my cross-stitch project, then head off to bed later. I miss Hiker, but at the same time, it's not a bad way to spend an evening anyway. I'm getting some stuff done that I need to get done. Tomorrow will be laundry and putting up the tree.

Interesting thing about that company Christmas party thing. Apparently his company has them every year, and he's worked at that same place for about 16 years. But he never went to the parties. Not even with his ex when they were still married. He mentioned it to me last year, but we didn't go (it's something that requires buying tickets ahead of time because there is limited space). This year he asked me if I'd like to go with him, so this will be his first time to go. I'm not sure if I should read anything into that or not (the fact that he and his then-wife never went even once, in all those years) but I'm just glad that he wants to take me with him to the one this year. :-)

So I guess it's safe to assume there'll be presents under the tree for the puppies to open too? ;-) hehe

~shrimpy, no where NEAR easy-mode yet

It's my weekend to work so here I am and I'm on call tonight :( kind of bummed out about it because it's also my kid weekend. My mother is helping out with the kids.

No big holiday plans as the holiday falls on my ex's weekend to have the kids and he won't split the weekend so we both can have part of it. I'll spend it with my s/o which will be good. We don't get too many weekends that don't involve work or our kids.

Oh wow - that is even better that he wants to take you and never took his exw when they were married. You have to get decked out - do your hair, look HOT! He will be proud of you - probably wants to show you off. You will have to give us a report!!

Sorry to hear about the throwing up thing. When they are little, mom is everything to keep their spirits up and take good care of them during times like this. Your actions to cancel the date show you do have your priorities in order. I hope he is better soon! It is probably something that has been going around school.

What do you mean by presents for the puppies? Did you get puppies for the kids? I must have missed something there!!
