I thought it would be fun to get into the spirit of the holidays.
Oh Christmas :)
1) Do you do turkey or ham, or both?
Usually we just have ham on Christmas, but since I don't really like ham, this year we're having both.
2) Where are you doing Christmas this year? Do you have more than one invite?
I'm going to spend Christmas with my entire family at my mom's house.
3) Who is on your Christmas list, and what are you thinking of getting them?
We draw name's for Christmas since we have so many people in our family. I have drawn my 7 year old cousin's name and my step-dad's. I've also bought a ton of stuff for my dd, which I can't wait to see her open!
4) Do you plan what you'll get for everyone, or do you just hit the stores and wait for the "right gift" to pop out?
I just usually walk around the stores and wait until I find something that will suit whoever I'm shopping for.
5) Do you send Christmas cards out?
Nope...
6) What's your favorite festive drink?
Don't really have one.
7) Do you have family traditions that you've passed on to your own children?
This is really the first year that my dd is understanding the whole Santa thing, so I just can't wait until Christmas morning to see her open her presents!
8) Do you leave out cookies and milk for santa? (Even if the kids don't believe anymore?)
Up until now I didn't even remember the whole cookies and milk thing for Santa...good thing I read this post...lol! I guess I will leave out cookies and milk, but more than likely, dd will eat them...lol!
1) Do you do turkey or ham, or both?
These are fun, Alison!!
1) Do you do turkey or ham, or both?
Normally I would do turkey, but with this big test coming we are going to eat my experiments.
2) Where are you doing Christmas this year? Do you have more than one invite?
We are going to have my family here. The week before I am taking that really intense exam which is 11 tests over 4 days. Then on Xmas eve we get a puppy. What was I thinking??!! :-)
3) Who is on your Christmas list, and what are you thinking of getting them?
My family is on my list - and all presents are bought and wrapped. My parents have the same favorite things and I buy toys for all kids and something fun for my sister and girl friends from Vickie's (victoriassecret.com) - one fell click and it was all done for all of the girls!!
I usually try to get as much done ahead so I can chill and enjoy. And this year that was more so because of the classes and tests I am taking.
4) Do you plan what you'll get for everyone, or do you just hit the stores and wait for the "right gift" to pop out?
I plan it out and then shop online as much and as soon as possible.
5) Do you send Christmas cards out?
NO - I consider that a big waste of time.
6) What's your favorite festive drink?
Probably the silk egg nog - or maybe some fun batch of something at a party.
7) Do you have family traditions that you've passed on to your own children?
Mostly just the Santa thing.
8) Do you leave out cookies and milk for santa? (Even if the kids don't believe anymore?)
For some reason we have never done that.
1) Do you do turkey or ham, or both?
Ham
2) Where are you doing Christmas this year? Do you have more than one invite?
Christmas Day is always at my parents' house.
3) Who is on your Christmas list, and what are you thinking of getting them?
For the kids in my family, we pick names. I have to kids, so I have to buy two gifts. I have no idea what I am going to get them, I have to ask their moms what they want. Other than grab bag, I always buy a gift for my mom and dad. I have a few close friends that I buy gifts for; and I usually get them clothes. I buy gifts for my bosses, and I have 3 this year. For my only male boss, I got him a golf calendar because he is a big golfer. As for the two women, I'm not sure what I'll get them. If I have time, I will paint them some kind of Christmas decoration for their house. One of them just got married, and the other just moved into a new apartment, so decorations would be good.
4) Do you plan what you'll get for everyone, or do you just hit the stores and wait for the "right gift" to pop out?
I plan what I want to buy. I try to get something they will like.
5) Do you send Christmas cards out?
If I have time I do.
6) What's your favorite festive drink?
I like egg nog with a touch of rum and nutmeg on top; I also like
hot chocolate with a touch of peppermint schnapps.
7) Do you have family traditions that you've passed on to your own children?
My kids go to their dads for Christmas Eve, but he brings them back to my house, adn they always wake up Christmas morning at my house. If they fall asleep in the car, they usually wake up when they get home, and they are too excited to sleep. For as long as I can remember, I read to them the original "Night Before Christmas" story before they go to bed. I found it in a bookstore when they were infants, and I am so glad I picked it up. After we read, then we leave milk and cookies out for Santa.
8) Do you leave out cookies and milk for santa? (Even if the kids don't believe anymore?)
Yes we do. They still believe.
If anyone else has more questions, add em in!
9) Does Santa wrap his presents or not?
In my house, Santa wraps, and I have special "Santa" paper that I hide from the
rest of the wrapping paper. A few years ago, I bought some wrapping paper that my niece was selling. It was Dora the Explorer and Spongebob Christmas paper. My kids actually noticed on Christmas morning that it was my paper. So, I made up some elaborate story about how after they went to bed on Christmas Eve, I needed to wrap some presents, so I went downstairs to get the paper, and it was gone. I said the elves must have stole my paper and used it to wrap their presents. I really played it up. They bought the story -- and they talk about it to this day. So, now I am more careful with my paper. Who would have thought they would notice?
