UNbeleieveable. Its all OK ... NOW ...

So i was told to bring a copy of the RO to the Police station so they had it on file. The cop says to me "Ok, if he breaks it, let us know & we will file a report". I said "No, he will be arressted, correct?". He said "No, a Family court order doesnt result in arrest". I said "Its a 3 yr Criminal RO, meaning, he GETS ARRESTED for breaking it, even just contacting me, emailing me, text messaging me, being in a public place where i am & not leaving". Cop insisted "Nope, no arrests would be made unless he broke the law & was violent or something".

Unfortunately in a lot of states the RO doesnt mean much. Same as a bench warrant for back CS. When I was living in Virginia I had a not so nice boyfriend who did some very very not nice things to me. Sent me to the Emg Room and the very sweet police officer told me "since we didnt live together and we didnt have no kids or wasnt married or nuttin it would be his word 'gainst mine...best to just move back up north" So I did...in the middle of the night with my dog and cat and a big ol uhaul. I dont have much faith in the courts but Im glad your tenacity paid off. Cant remember who said it but you must keep in mind its only a piece of paper...dont let your guard down for a sec. You want it enforced you have to police the police and enforce it yourself.

Hang in there chica...you dun good!!!!!!!!

Let me know when that book comes out!

You would be WONDERFUL at writing that book. The first copy needs to go to the Barney Fife you were having to educate at the police station.

Write the book! Your experiences, insight and guidance would be invaluable to women in a similar situation. Plus, I'm sure Avery's college fund could use a little extra.

GL with all this. I hope you get a little down time and mental break SOON! How much longer are you off work because of your foot?

I honestly have my therapist AND my vet, lol, who's been thru hell & back in this, both begging me the last couple years to either do some sort of Divorce workshops for women, or write a book.
