I sat up at the bar by myself at first. Turned in my contest song... Then, one person from the meetup showed... she's new to the group and wanted to be my cheerleader, so

Wow - it sounds like you had a fun night!! I hope you see more of him - good to hear you are getting out there - I read your other post about becoming meetup assistant and I thought that was a great idea to get you meeting more people with the same interests!! Now you will have company to all of your karaoke places!!

The bowling event sounds good - that is tonight, right? Keep us posted!

Bowling is next sunday...

New Meetup Hottie was so good looking that i thought to myself, i'm sure he doesn't have trouble meeting girls. Last night's place was an older crowd (not a hookup young 20's crowd) and it was more Country and classic music rather than hard rock. (they had Jewel's Stronger Woman.... i'll have to tryit next time) I liked the place.. seems like a great place to bring a huge crowd. There were 20 singers in the contest. The old guy on crutches from the other contest was there too.. He tells some of the funniest dirty old man jokes... lol...

You are a man magnet!

hmmm. i wonder what being a man magnet would look like?? But i did enjoy all the attention i got... especially after Meetup Hottie showed up.... he was getting a lot of attention too because of how gorgeous he was... and like i said the older guys were looking at me like, way to score...lol... And last night i thought, wow if he likes karaoke (which he does) then this could be a great match... but then i cooled myself off and just focused on laughs and good times for one night (and not stressing about matches etc)... but all day today, i was thinking about how gorgeous he was and that he came to meet ME.... oh, if only i knew if he had fun or was planning to come to more meetups. sigh... i

Yeah the 'what ifs' & second guessing is exhausting isn't it! I always tell myself just to 'go with the flow' ........... but it never quite works! ;o)

Thats so cool. I have only been to karaoke once and we were singing popular music. What type of music do you sing? Can you chose from any genre? Or is it just popular music. There are some Chili Peppers songs I wish I could sing. Do they have any

I like to sing the top 40 stuff... Many people say i sound like Jewel, so i sing her stuff... I sing my favorite songs.. like Alanis Morrisette, Pink, Sheryl Crow, No Doubt, Natasha Bedingsford, Avril... then other times i'll pick an old favorite like Madonna, Britney Spears, a hair band, or something from the 80s.... I'll sing county too like Faith Hill, or Dixie Chicks..even Rascal Flatts... when i sing a guy song, i tend to screw it up because the key is too low.. but i'll try it anyway... I have my warm-up faves, my belting faves, and my upbeat dance faves.. oh of course the occasion love song.. like "Dreaming of You" by Selena... or "Strawberry Wine" by Deana Carter.

Each venue has a different song list... so i never know what they will have but i can usually find something. Some people like to sing the same things over and over, but i like to learn\try a new song every now and then. MOST of the time i enjoy myself no matter what other people sing.. i like listening to music... but occasionly people will do a sad slow song one after another and that gets really boring...

Lbinny ~ still hoping i see the new hottie again.
