How was everyone's weekend?

Mine has had its ups and downs. The Masked Ball was a blast. Started with being greeted at the door by dancers and strolling violinists, handed a glass of champagne, then herded through to the patio bar area where we had an open bar and jugglers performing. Then we had fireworks, and finally the multi-course dinner with a different wine for each course. During dinner there were opera singers performing a few arias and then the dance band played some dinner music and eventually dance music. I was unable to sell my whole table so we had 2 couples we just met that night plus my 2 single mom friends at our table. M and I danced, and M also made a point of dancing with my friends who did not bring dates. M also convinced the young man at our table to take a whirl around the dance floor with my friend L who is big into ballroom dance. The older couple at our table were there celebrating their 28th anniversary. It was a total surprise for his wife, including a limo and a stay at a very nice, quaint local hotel. Is that guy a keeper or what? M and I ended the night at his place for some bedroom tango, I wandered home finally at 2am.

Pictures attached are:
1. The masks I made for myself and M
2. My dress, the one I bought in Paris
3. Close up of QB's hairdo, spent 4 hours at a spa salon getting a facial, hairdo and makeup
4. My table group

Today kind of sucked. My sewer line got clogged, horribly clogged, and I need to have it dug up so it can be fixed. Meanwhile, the master bath is full of effluent, ugggh!!! The problem is most likely from the remodeling. The guy who helped with the demo work didn't cover the drain when he knocked out the walls in the shower. Dust and debris most likely has been sitting in the trap and when the tile guy was working in there it must have gotten knocked loose and wound up in the sewer line. It is totally blocked. And I made this great dinner for my kids and M, but it was a bit discouraging to have the sewage smell wafting through the house.

I went to the Murder Mystery party on Friday night with CNDG (not shown in the pic with me but in the group shot). It was a blast. More to post when I have more time.

You look so elegant in your pics QB. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. And how cavalier of M to make a point to dance with the dateless ladies at your table! That's so sweet. Your Sunday sounds like a downer though! Peeeehew!

My weekend began with a b-day bonfire for my niece's friend's son Friday night. He turned 10 so the evening was filled with every little boy shananigan one could imagine. I too kept to see fireworks but unlike your evening, we dined on roasted hot dogs and smores :) I haven't had a hot dog over the fire in quite some time so it really hit the spot!

Saturday was very uneventful which was definitely ok by me because it was cold. I did have a little league meeting that morning that I almost forgot about!!

It was off to the movies Sunday to see "Juno". My daughter had been wanting to see that. It wasn't quite what I expected it to be but I enjoyed it.Personally, I could've waited for it to come out on dvd. I much would have rather seen The Bucket List or 27 Dresses.

WOW - what a story - and the pix too! Love the masks you made, the dress from Paris and your pic - looks like a wonderful time by all.

Sorry to hear of the plumbing challenge - boy did you get a doozy - it is not enough that you have to call a plumber to unclog - but to have to tear everything up to fix the blockage is crazy. And how annoying about the smell!! Hopefully they solve it fast!!

My weekend was pretty quiet. Friday we went to dinner with my parents and had fun. Saturday I had a great swim workout, did the race and didn't drown or come in last, then went for a 2 hour ride with my triathlon swim friends. Took a nap and went out with my alumni friend. Was mortified at how few middle aged men there were in the bars. Glad I am on eharmony for that reason.

Yesterday I stayed home and worked all day. This morning I cleaned the house and bathed the little dog - he smells like green apple.

DS is coming home in a bit - trying to get all the work done this week that I have been so behind on.

Your comment about the how few middle age guys in the bar made me think "Where are they?" and I'm sure the ones that were there were probably ones you would not want. lol

Love your pic of the little one. I had some trouble with my little one over the weekend. I think the cold is getting to her and is causing some joint pain. I gave her some aspirin late yesterday morning and by the time we got back from the movies, she greeted me by wagging her whole body when we returned, so the aspirin seem to do the trick. She was even "holding" herself because she didn't want to squat when I took her out.

Murder Mystery party: the hostess sends out our character role ahead of time so we know what kind of persona to adopt and dress as for the party.
