We want to hear all about your day! Share here please. Good Bad and Ugly all welcome. I know some times there are things that happen that you just really need to explode about. We're all ears (or eyes. Whatever. ;)

Yeah he really is....
I wish he hadn't pawned those items because it took forever to get them out last time, but he's priceless and when I cried about how he got me such a nice gift and found out how, he just leaned over and kissed me and said, "I do these things because I love you." How could I object after that? It's just how he is and if he were different, he'd be Scott, my ex.

I did just think of one thing funny - or not so funny - when I got home, it was late and I was getting ready for bed - picking up the house quick.
I went to go into the garage and poof - right before my eyes - a RAT!! eegads. It was sort of cute - like a big fat mouse - and it had a hairy tale - so it wasn't one of those real ugly ones. But at any rate, that is not what you would want to see so late, never mind by yourself.
I closed the house door that goes into the garage and locked it.
The next day I vacuumed the WHOLE garage and set off to Home Depot for rat traps.
Today I was telling my son the story on the phone and of all the questions he could ask, he says, "Which cheese did you use?" When I told him I borrowed one of his string cheeses he replied, "oh - those are good - but you didn't give him all my cheese, did you?"
Kids are so funny.
And every morning I am looking into the garage - half hoping to find the critter in the trap and half hoping NOT to find the critter in the trap. I just hope it doesn't make some strange loud sound in the middle of the night!!
OH! Ewwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could NOT deal with a Rat anywhere in my home!
And I know what you mean. You want to catch it and have it be GONE. But...You don't want to hear it be caught and you don't want to have to "uncatch" it and dispose of it!
Your ds is too funny! He's so worried about using up his cheese. ROTFL!!!
There isn't much more to report on the wedding front...DF did the invites (plumeria border) and DD and I went dress shopping. I thought that I would get something pretty cheap in Jessica McClintock's, but 12 was tight and 14 needed alterations...so I picked up something glamorous in Macy's. It's not white, but it's 40s style hollywood in cream. and a comfortable 10. I found the shoes (Nina), too, but with Xmas bills coming up, I'll pick them up later. I think we found something in the same fabric for DD, too. I was hoping to get something that would work for her first holy communion AND the wedding, but this dress we saw in Nordstrom's is more like my dress and not very FHC-ish. She's a funny 7.5 year old...no more tulle for her, she picks sassy stuff.
Now we have to work on the flowers and dinner. More people than we anticipated are flying out. We're going to have a reception in SF, but DF says that we have to feed them if they show for the wedding. I wanted to have dinner at Roy's in Poipu, but that's pretty pricey. OK for a party of six, but 20?
Yes, we've been dating for 3.5 years and it's the first time that he's spent the night in my bed (but no funny business- any tips on being quiet you guys??)...last Xmas he was on the couch. He told them a couple of nights before hand and DD was put out by it...she turned to me and asked, 'are you really sure you're getting married? What if you don't?'

Awww, your dd's last comment was so cute and sweet. And how FUNNY that she already wants to dress like a grown up!
The dress (yours) sounds INCREDIBLE! That was the kind of thing I was looking for myself, but it was wintertime and I just couldn't find anything that wasn't dark colored. So, went w/the gown instead.
On being quiet: Um, you are asking the WRONG girl. I've gotten "in trouble" with ds a couple of times with this, and now feel VERY inhibited when Ty's home. And when he is and we're fooling around I will always end up noisy and J will (don't laugh) reach up and shove a pillow at my face. Ok, you can laugh!
So, no other good advice.
Ok, I am confused. Did I MISS that big "congrats" sentence at the beginning of your post, or did you add it AFTER I read and then started to answer to your post???
LOL. At any rate, thank you! Crazy huh?
Ours was wonderful. I was unfortunately deathly sick the night before Christmas Eve day and awfully afraid we wouldn't be able to get everything done that we'd planned but I needn't have been. I slept until about 10 or so and when I got up, dh had already had dd get dressed and she'd had breakfast and had been taking care of some of the stuff like emptying litter boxes and other minor cleaning stuff that needed to be done to get ready for company. Then he went to the grocery store while I rested to get the rest of the stuff for our dinner the next day and to pick up something for dinner that evening as the original plans that we'd had fell through (we were supposed to go to an open house at some friends' but she lost her job on the 22nd so they'd cancelled. Hope it works out for her soon.) I was feeling well enough then to make pumpkin pie and do some other cleaning--luckily we'd done a really good job the Sunday before in preparation so it wasn't too difficult. Then bless his heart, dh encouraged me to lie down for a short nap which I did. When I got up I was feeling better and we were able to have dinner and I made gingerbread cookies. Dd and dh decorated them as I was doing more batches in the oven. They were so cute! (Backstory, dh had never done this before we got together and the very first Christmas Eve we were dating we did this at my house.) Then got dd to bed after checking Santa's whereabouts on the NORAD site and dh started preparing the sauces for his flavored mashed potatoes while we watched It's a Wonderful Life.
Christmas morning I slept in until about 8:30 and when I got up dh said that I had about 5 more minutes before he was going to come and get me because I had two kids who wanted to open presents LOL. Dd was thrilled with her nutcracker from Santa and then the real fun began. She loves her new bike and other toys--the Seraphina cat really confuses our poor cats. Merlin doesn't like it at all and wanted to attack it but since it's got a motion sensor every time he went to pounce on it, it's tail would curl, or it would move it's head or make a meow. Too funny! Mike loved his gifts and I thought he was just going to cry over the Bob Ross paint set--he's so excited! He got me a beautiful sapphire and diamond pendant, a nice leather skirt to match the jacket he got me last year and a beautiful mother and child fairy figurine to add to my collection. Lots of other stuff too; we were all spoiled.
My grandparents and Mike's sister came for dinner and Mike made prime rib roast, three types of flavored mashed potatoes as well as regular ones for my grampa and I made creamed peas. We were all stuffed and enjoyed each others company. Oh, and yes, dh got his dolies from my gramma. They're beautiful and we immediately put the long one on the mantle and a couple on the table. What can I say, my dh is very into our home decor. Makes for a very harmonious home.
The only sad part of Christmas was that evening I noticed that one of the diamond side stones on my wedding set was missing. I was heartbroken! But yesterday we both had the day off and we took it into the Shane Co where we bought it. Even though it had been over six months since I'd had it inspected, they took it, found a stone for it and I can pick it up after 6 tonight; no charge. I was sooooo relieved. We had a nice lunch out and came home to enjoy the evening. There's so much more but all in all just a fabulous Christmas.
I am SO GLAD the Shane Co. honored the warranty on your ring even though you were late on your inspection. What a GREAT company. Sorry you lost an original though. THat's a bummer.
The food and gifts sound wonderful! (what KIND of flavored mashed potatos???)
Too funny that DH was excited about doiley's!!!! I can see where that would make things nice, but at the same time, does it ever step on your toes if you try to decorate and he has a "better idea"? My mom lived with this always (and still does) because my dad is into it too and he always stomped all over her territory. THat would drive me crazy, cute as it is in some ways.
Hope you're feeling much much better!
