Hump Day- What Are You Excited About?

I know we have been doing a "wednesday woes" lately, but this week, how about an Excitement thread??

Tell us what you are excited about this week (or whatever that is coming up for you!)

-------------------------------------------
For me, I'm excited that I will get the kids back on Friday, after them being gone with their dad for just over a month! It'll be neat to be able to smush them and kiss them and tickle them again. It'll be cool having them around to do things with and go places with. Although I have TRULY enjoyed my Mommy break this month, I do miss them too. But I have to say, I needed that Mommy break after having them pretty much 24/7 the rest of the year. (I know Cat will understand that one!) But I am looking forward to getting back to trying to be the best Mom I can be. The last time I was with them, I felt like I was a bit frazzled and falling short on the good-Mom part. I'm hoping to improve on that.

I'm also excited that the new college semester is about to start up again! Which means I go back to work again- and again, while I've enjoyed the summer off, I'm looking forward to being back at work again and DOING something important with my time. I do love having a professional identity and don't like going without it.

I'm excited that Hiker is making plans to go to a football game of my old alumni university this fall! We did one game last fall and had a great time... and now he's wanting to do it again! :-)

Speaking of football... I'm THRILLED that football is starting back up this week! I don't even care if it's pre-season and probably boring- I'm just glad SOMETHING is back that I can enjoy watching, sports-wise! lol It's been a loooong slow summer without the NBA or NFL to keep me entertained. ;-) Goooo Cowboys!!!!! hehe

I'm sure I can think of more if I kept on typing, but those are the main things right now.

I'm excited because I have a dinner date on Saturday! I met him via match (early June!), was disappointed that he didn't call after our first meet, (but have learned not to take it personally), and was surprised by his call last week. I went camping on Cape Cod last weekend, so couldn't go, (good excuse, huh?), and we will go somewhere Sat.

Can't wait to dress up!

Mary

*love to hear the good news and the venting!

I am excited about:

1. Realizing what a strong woman I can be. (Recently had to tell someone I didn't want to see him anymore even though he was a very sweet man)

2. The free time I have as my daughter is in Florida vacationing with her dad. I don't get a lot of free time.

3. Realizing that my other brothers and sisters can take our dad to dr. appts.

4. That little league baseball is over even though it was fun.

5. That it's Wednesday (LOL)

DS is having fun at his dad's house and baseball camp this week. And I am getting a lot done. Business is good. Life is good! And I am done with my LONG training for a race coming up in 1.5 weeks - on easy street right now.

I'm excited about my new job, which I'll be starting at the beginning of September.

I'm excited I finally found a place to live, and we'll be moving at the end of August.

I'm excited to be looking for a new car. I need one badly, and know I'll be able to afford one now.

I'm excited school starts back up for the kiddos in September- and they'll be in a GREAT district.

I'm excited things with funnyguy are still going well.

I'm excited my father got his new wheelchair, and can now be mobile again.

I guess that's it for now...

Moody, counting her blessings

Just a lurker chiming in with the nursing-I'm a nurse practitioner. Did my BSN right away-but that was pre-kids. I believe you need a BSN if you would like to be an NP, but not if you'd like to get a management degree. There is such a nursing shortage now-I live in Mass.-there is absolutely no difference in pay scale for AS vs BSN. There are also a couple of programs around here that you can get your BSN in 1 year if you have a bachelor's in another field. I don't know if you have anything like that near you. Of course, you have to do what works financially for you and the kids right now. And shrimpy's right-it's a tough field, and you have to love it. That said, nursing is so versatile-you can do almost anything. And you can work any hours.

Good luck with your decision.

Michelle (with 3 boys and excited to have a small break from them while they are away with their dad for a couple of days since I am 24/7)
