I am a lurker

Hi ladies. I admit I am a lurker. I come to this board every now and again just to read the different postings. I also want to let you all know that you are some amazing women. I've posted before just every now and again but it's been quite some time ago.

So if you will permit, I would like to introduce myself. I searched for the last roll call and will try to follow the usual questions asked.

I am 43 with a 13 year old daughter. I live in southeast Missouri and I've been divorced five years after a 16 year marriage. I have two pugs Emma and Roxy. Until my divorce I've never been on my own...went from my parents house to a house with my husband... but really like being on my own. I've dated some but not a lot. I find myself kinda of "backwards" socially and I don't really talk a lot and am TERRIBLE with face-to-face conversation. Tried the online thing and I think I'm a little too paranoid for that, LOL.

This board, even though I mostly lurk, gives me a lot of strength at times, makes me laugh at times, cry at times, and I just wanted to thank everyone for just being here at times.

Welcome Dear Emma! So glad that you are joining us! I have been on this board for over 5 years now (sometimes taking a small break) and it has really brought great strength in me as a person. I have learned and grown in ways I thought I never would. For many that don't know, I started on this board when I was living in Germany (Judy remembers and Alison); this board saved me during that time when I was very lonely, I was sick with cancer, I was going through so many difficult times in my life and all I wanted was to come back home to the States. The ladies on this board helped with their encouragement to make me make this move and the strength to leave things behind that were keeping me in an unhealthy state.

I am so much happier now then I ever was before.

So I KNOW this board will help you alot and bring you much strength in ways you never thought.

Big hugs to you and I am SO glad you delurked.

- Catherine

p.s.: I have to daughters: 13 year old and a 6 year old.

Welcome!!! I just came on board a couple of weeks ago. I'm 37, was married for 12 years, been separated for almost 2 yrs, have 2 kids...an 11 yr. old daughter and 9 yr. old son and....I ALSO HAVE TWO PUGS! Frank (fawn) and Sammy (black). Aren't they the best? Only a true pug owner knows how special these little fat things are. Glad to have you here.

My two pugs are also fawn and black. Emma (fawn) and Roxy (black). The pug personality is just out of this world! I actually got Roxy to keep Emma company for when I was at work and it has worked out really well.

Aren't they great! They seriously make me laugh everyday. Mine are 5 years old (only 3 months apart) so they've been together since they were puppies. I was a SAHM when I got them, but now that I work I'm so glad they have each other for when I'm gone. They're inseperable.
