J and I will have been together a year on the 20th! Man, does time fly! And you know, I'm still as smitten with him as day one! He's just an amazing guy, we truly can talk about anything- and we don't argue about anything. If there's something that needs to be discussed, then we discuss it- which is not something I'm used to with my ex, we just argued and that lead to screaming and slamming doors and stomping and throwing things. He's super romantic and loving, laughs when I refer to him as "honey bunny" to his friends and is great with my son. The two of them get along really well, and I see J's influence on ds daily- he's now interested in photography and taking pictures of bugs, just like J.

He's also very easy to live with, we both have our own things that we do and then we have our *family* days and such. Judy has inspired me to work out, so I'm walking/ jogging three times a week and will be adding in a gym session of weights soon. J goes out and plays soccer three times a week, which is getting him back in shape from a long winter stretch of just eating my good food :) And J just stays home with Nicolas (yes, I have a Nicolas too, Judy!) while I go work out, I put him in bed first, so J's not really doing anything other than just being home LOL! We're both trying to become more active, and it's really been a fun process!

Also, I've been at my job now for six months. I still love it, even though it's quite a lot of challenge and a lot of work. I'm going for more training at the end of this month, so I'm hoping that means that my end date of Oct 1 will be extended! The money is awesome, and my savings account is growing rapidly! Now if I was laid off then I wouldn't be so worried because I do have that safety net, but I'm hoping that I'm extended again and again and again.

I got all that ranting out of my system the other day, so now I'm all happy again and seeing the positive things YAY!

:)

That is wonderful! I finally got back to the gym this week and I am soooo sore, but it feels good too.

J works with a girl who I've become friends with, and she's training to be a fitness instructor/ personal trainer, so she's helping me to reach my goals. It's nice to be able to go out with someone that has an idea of what I should be doing to get toned up- I don't want/ need to really lose weight, just lose the *wiggle* LOL!

So with Judy's inspiration to work on ourselves, I've started. And it feels good, I'm actually LESS tired than before, which amazed me. And it's good for me too because my job is a 20 min commute there and 20 mins home, plus sitting still in front of a computer all day, I'm too still all day!

That is nice. You can't beat having someone who knows what they are doing to motivate you. I exercise to battle the fatigue from my RA, and it does make a huge difference.

Judy,

I'm not sure about more kids. After I had Nicolas I swore up and down that I wouldn't go through labour again, since it was so painful. And afterwards I had friends that went on to have their 2, 3 and in some cases 4 kids and just all the turmoil they have in their lives. I can honestly say that I wasn't a big fan of the baby stages, when all he could do was cry, I had to carry him a lot, and woke up at night. He didn't sleep through the night until he was 2!

J and I have discussed kids and said, "in the future", since neither of us is ready for it now. I'm only 28 now, so I still have a few years left in me LOL. The thought of a baby actually makes me nervous, compared to when I was pregnant with Nicolas and so elated- I guess now I know what to expect! I told J that I didn't even want to make that decision for another 4-5 years as to whether or not to have more kids. He asked me, "well, what if we get to that point and I'm still not ready, or I decide I don't want any?" And I thought about it for a while, but realized that I would be ok with that. I look at it, that I've already HAD the experience, so it's not like I'm missing out on that in my life. And really, by that time Nicolas will be like 10, so the whole "you don't want to have an only child" argument doesn't apply because it would be like two only kids with the age difference.

And of course, I do remember the good things about babies, their first smile, the way they coo and "tell stories". The way they nuzzle into you when you hold them. All the firsts they experience from sitting up to walking.

But right now, with just starting the new job and being with J only a year, I'm not ready to add a baby to that mix.

It is good that you have so much time.

I know what you mean about the baby stages - my Nicholas didn't sleep through the night until he was 2, either!!

I would have another if I could have the chance, but at 43 the days are numbered. I will see whatever happens. I would only want one if I was in a stable, committed relationship with a man who wants to be a father.

If only we could skip the stages of pregnancy and childbirth!!

That is awesome! Congratulations! I’m so happy to hear you’ve found yourself a great guy!

Good luck with the workouts! If you’re like me you will LOVE the strength training sessions. I find them absolutely empowering and they make me stronger for my cardio workouts too.

Hope you get to keep the great job too!
