I did it. The cord is cut!

Well, I did it! I contacted the guy I had told you all about and told him that there just is no spark, there never will be and that we need to just cut the cord. I told him that to try to force it would be wrong and I would just be using him and I wouldn't want to do that to him. Shockingly, he said, "okay." That was it, thankfully! No whining or begging involved. Phew! I told him that I was glad he was taking it so well and that I am sure it doesn't come as a shock - I know he feels it too.

So, that was that. Short and sweet. The cord is cut and I can just focus on me and my angel and waiting for Mr. Right! I know he is out there and no more trying to force what isn't there!

Thanks again for all the help!

Good job! Fast, short, simple, to the point.

Now you don't have to worry and he can move on and find someone who is into him.

Good. Good that you just did it, good that he didn't make you feel obligated to explain yourself further. Now you can both move on.

Oh wow - that is interesting - you make a huge difference in so many people's lives. I know my L&D RN made a huge difference in mine - she was great! It is hard work for you and stressful at times I am sure but you must love watching babies be born every day!! How did you decide on that career route?

I feel VERY blessed to be in the profession I am. To be able to help & support women & their families thru THE most special times in their life really IS a gift, to me.

That is a great story - and I love that you are a lactation consultant - I was blessed to be able to nurse my son for so long or longer as well - more than 3 years. Breast feeding is a wonderful thing.

No wonder you want more children of your own!!

It is so cute that you had a pillow on your belly when you were young. So cute!!

Okay- now I am going to be more strict about this 45 year old!! You have to have more dates planned and really get out there and don't waste any time with any one dodo.

A L&D RN! That is so cool! What a rewarding job that must be! I know nursing is so very hard, but it is nice that you are in a profession in which you can see such a positive, wonderful result!

I posted my other reply before reading your story of how you decided to become a L&D RN and your childhood with pillows! :)

What a beautiful story. Your story about breast feeding made me a little sad, though because I never got to experience that.

I so badly wanted to breastfeed and do everything the "natural" way for my daughter as I believed then (and still do now) that it really is best. Well, that whole idea was shot down and was my first experience with the idea that it is tough to make plans when a little one is involved! I was practicing hypnobirthing and actually looking forward to that whole natural, miraculous birth experience. Well, my little girl went into breach position and stayed there right up until the end, so I had to have a C-Section. As far as breastfeeding, I am on pretty major medication and my neurologist, when I finally told him I was pregnant (and had stopped the medication immediately upon realizing it), told me that I absolutely could not breastfeed as I had to do an injection of my medication as soon as possible after delivery and continue on it or risk relapse. So, there went breastfeeding!

My daughter is a well adjusted, healthy little girl and we have an amazing bond with each other, but I do wish we could have started off her life out here in the world a little differently!
