Welcome! You have come to the right place!! We do hope you stick around and participate here -you will learn a lot and have fun - as I have - I am sure!!

Well, you do sound ready to date - if anyone could ever be ready for that.

And hahaha - you ask the $64 million dollar question - WHERE to meet. I can probably make an educated guess it is not going to be in your house - but it can be anywhere else, pretty much. So, just start getting out and doing new things and meeting new people. Do you have a hobby, church, gym? Those are good starts. Friends have friends who have more friends - expand the social circle. Volunteer in your community. Participate in more school events as the kids get older and look good when you go to their activities and meet new friends and keep an eye open that way. Talk more to the neighbors. Of course all of this "In Real Life" (IRL) stuff is just grand because it gets you out and about and helps fill your need to be social with adults. And theoretically when you are happy with all of that you are going to be more picky - which is good.

But there is also online dating (OLD). match.com and eharmony.com are two popular ones around here that people have had luck doing. You basically take some good pix and write about yourself - kind of like an ad - and then guys who are single and interested in you contact you - or visa versa. But that is a process - I have often said OLD is good AND bad because it brings the world to your door - you have to weed out a lot of mismatches and people who are not really good dating material for you.

But whatever you choose - good luck - and I do hope you keep us posted!

I believe you can have companionship without having a boyfriend.
