Was a little bored yesterday and started browsing on POF and yeah, I emailed someone, GEESH! I don't know why I do this lol.

Anywho, he's 52 (8 yr difference there) kids are grown and he's a carpenter. Here's what he has in his profile: "I love the outdoors and enjoy many outdoor activities. I like to fish, hunt, hike, farm, and take pictures. I may also be found in my shop, building just about anything. I get a feeling of great satisfaction when I create something with my hands. When I am in the mood I love to cook. I have some favorite recipes, but I always like to try something new. I have a great passion for several genres of music. Concerts and live music have always been a part of my life. I feel that I have several friends and I think I am easy to get along with. Humor is a recognizable trait present in my personality. Humor makes life fun and I like to have fun. I can't think of many dislikes except "jive" people. People that make a commitment and then blow that commitment off without an apology or explanation. It would be nice to meet someone that shares some of my interests but is not necessary."

So sent him a message telling him I thought his profile was interesting and would like hear from him. I really liked the part that he says he feels a great satisfaction creating something with his hands, because I'm like that. I was online last night but on POF my profile is hidden and I was going to unhide it because I saw that he was online but I heard my daughter making her way into the room so I didn't have time. She started talking to me and believe me when she does that I stop what I'm doing. So, I may have missed out chatting with him, don't really know. I think I'll add him to my favorite so he will see that I'm interested. We'll see.

I'm trying to pursue, but so far have not got a response. I know what you mean by sounding real. The only strange part about his profile is that under his "interest" he listed music, anything outdoors, cooking, and get this mushroom hunting. When I read that I thought, what the...! Have to say, that was the first time I ever saw that. I almost mentioned it in my message but I didn't because I was afraid of it coming across as making fun of him KWIM?

I LOVE working with my hands and to have an opportunity to further my carpentry knowledge would be so awesome. When remodeling the attic room for my DD, I had a wonderful teacher in the beginning and that was my BIL. He was so patient showing me how to do things and he even made fun of my hammer because it wasn't ergonomically proper! We worked very well together and we were awesome at brainstorming. I'd even bring up things he hadn't thought of doing and would show him a thing or two, lol. He never got me out of my fear of working with electricity though, he would just laugh at me. I miss him so much, we lost him to cancer in May of '06. He was a part of our family ever since I was like 10 or so. More like a brother than a BIL. When my sister first saw the finished attic she told me that he would be very proud of me. That meant a lot.

Hi, That is a very touching story about your BIL.

About Mushroom hunting , I think it is very common especially with people who love hiking and outdoors. I know few people who like Mushroom hunting.

So far he sounds great. Hope he responds soon.

" And I just got to stand there holding his wrench... (oh wait, that was later LOL"

That cracked me up! I might use your line "nothing sexier than a man with tools" thing. As of today, I haven't heard from him. Was thinking of sending him one more message and then letting it go. I know he's read the message but <<>> has not replied.

Emma! So you found this guy because you were bored... and if he LEAVES you STILL BORED, then it shouldn't be too hard to say "Next!" and move on!

But really... it's only been a day or two. Give him time to move on Guy Time!!!!! If you keep trying to contact him too much, he will think you're desperate! Guys just NEVER move as fast as we want on the communication thing. And then the ones who do... they are SMOTHERING because they want US to maintain
