Ok I am 32 - and well my twins are getting older and not taking up so much of my time and with the divorce It seems I have alot more sparetime and lost as to "what is it now that I am 32 to do with myself" . Im not really into "going out with the girls to the bar - thing" Im not much of a drinker and well - honestly going to those places filled with hardbody 20 year old girls is just soooo depressing!

SOOO - I know this sounds silly but what do you ladies do with a weekend without the kids ?

Thanks

Or, what do we do with a SUMMER without the kids! ;)

Me personally: I want to see some chick flicks that I keep meaning to rent. Go to some coffee shops by myself. Sit by the pool with plenty of books. Clean house at will. Enjoy not harping on someone to keep his room clean.

I want to work on some sewing projects. I want to cook some new things that I always mean to cook, but never do because little guy would complain and it wouldn't be worth it unless it was JUST FOR ME.

I want to have plenty of "Becky Spa evenings" when J is out and it's just me. Walk around mostly naked, with a face mask on and doing my nails and sipping a cosmo. Sounds silly, but that kind of privacy is a LUXURY to me.

I could probably go on and on here. And I might not end up doing some of those things. But the point is I COULD if I wanted to. SO, I will do whatever comes to mind, whenever I want. I LOVE IT!!!

Hmm...so many things.

I LOVE to go to the Gym...it's the only thing I really do just for myself.

This is a great question you have asked.

I swim, bike and run!! Last weekend we rode our bikes 50 miles and then swam a mile in the ocean. I have a lot of fun, fit friends.

I also like to clean the house, cook and read books. And sometimes I get a lot of work done when it is quiet (home office).

My hobbies are painting ceramics, crafts and reading.

When I don't have the kids, I usually get together with my BF. We're just starting out so he hasn't met the kids yet, so we only get together when the kids are with their dad, which is every other weekend. However, sometimes our schedules conflict, and I do have time by myself without the kids and without the BF. Like the whole month of July, every time I don't have the kids, he will be out of town. Oh well, I have plenty to keep me busy. Sometimes I like to go out to dinner or a show with a friend, but sometimes I like to stay home when I'm by myself to work on home projects. Unfortunately, I don't have much time for my "hobbies". I always do housework and try to make sure the house is clean before the kids come back (although they will mess it up anyway). I am also in the process of doing a lot of work on my house. First, I need to do a lot of organizing of my basement, throw stuff out, etc. When that's done and I can get some money together, I can have someone work on finishing the remodeling I was doing in the basement. I need to repaint my room and my daugther's room, although I admit that I haven't been motivated to do that lately. I have a woodworking project that I started in February (staining baseboard) that I really need to finish. I guess I spend more time working on my house than anything else when I'm in the mood to do it.

I wish I had your problem with TOO much time....I feel like I am running all the time. My oldest son plays Baseball every year and it seems the older they get the more time consuming it is also the more enjoyable the games are. I really don't mind, it's a very healthy activity for him and gets all of us in the team spirit! It's also a social time for me and my family, my Dad is almost always there and my mom and my step dad go a lot too... Plus my XMIL and XFIL go and it's nice to see them routing on my son! When I don't have BB, I go out with my friends/fiancé to dinner or drinks to the movies, gym and I long for the days I can sit down and watch TV or a movie at home. When I was single, I remember going to Barnes and Noble and grabbing a book and sitting down and reading a little of the book. I would go for a bike ride or to the gym, visit my family/friends, I would go out to dinner and drinks with my friends, go see a chick flick with some girlfriends.

Oh, I remember ...my youngest son was in Kindergarten and I was talking with one of the mom's and we decided that we'd ask some other mothers to go out on a Mom's Night Out to the movies. I was the one who made a flier and handed it to the mom's stating on where we were going, what time and to call me if they wanted to go. The 1st Mom’s Night Out turned out okay...not a lot of people but the ones that did come, we had a great time. I did this with various activities throughout the year the same people kept showing up. The last get together was the last day at school I again handed out fliers to the Mom's asking them to go to the park immediately following the kids graduation for an end of the year picnic. There was 6 of us who showed up with their kids and throughout that summer, 5 out of the 6 still got together for movies or dinner or the park. This was 3 years ago and we still all get together for our “Diva” Nights Out, sometimes we allow our SO’s to come, and we get together for pool parties/pizza nights with our families. In fact we are getting together tonight, which I will be late because my son has another play off game tonight.

I guess just rambled and got off the subject a bit but I hope I gave you some ideas for you to do and get to know people.

Good Luck

I know - I don't like driving far, either.

But riding is a different story. We ride in Homestead/Florida City - near the everglades. There are a lot of tree farms and we see all sorts of wild life - alligators, beautiful water birds, families of racoons swimming, manatees, possums, etc. There is a marina where we stop for the bathroom and the ocean is always beautiful there.

All in all it is about a 2.5 hour ride. It goes by really fast and is a great workout.

Thanks ladies

I appreciate your posts and ideas. I guess getting pregnant at 21 with twins, getting married and then being with a man who was very controlling for so long I just lost ME. I have found JOY in life and getting out and doing things with my boyfreind but I realize "I" need to learn what it is that "I" like again. I want to gain freinds too- Again because of my situation in the last 10 years I lost freinds- I have one close girlfreind that I "talk" to but she is pretty busy. Other than that I have 3 sisters that I get together with occasionally . BUT beyond that I want to just find something I can do alone that brings me happiness I do all the essential things in life but want something extra. A start has been exercise everyday - I walk 30 mins every night and that I do look forwrd too and I have lost 8 lbs already! Another thing - I am not your typical girly/girl and well not really interested in decorating, tupperware parties, stamping, scrapbooking etc...they just do not appeal to me at all- which also leaves me lost- I feel like I dont relate to alot of women...

Anyway you have given me some great ideas and I will definitly consider them!

Well, when I get some free time I usually work on my scrapbooking, watch a girl/comedy flick, read, or just go for a drive.. My children keep me pretty busy though with soccer, hockey, skateboardering, motorcross, and girl scouts. I started playing on an indoor co-ed soccer team during the winter's (ALASKA) about 6yrs ago... It's great, and my kids love cheering me on.

Have fun :-)
