I'm getting Married!

LOL! Just kidding! LOL, that must of terrified everyone! BUT I do have great news!

I finished packing my first 10 boxes for the States. They are going out THIS Friday. YAHOOOOOO! It's my official start to leaving this Godforsaken Country after becoming my own prisoner of 10yrs here. Ladies, this is a really big cause to celebrate. Once those boxes are shipped, that's it, no going back. I have to get them back and they can't be shipped back, because one of my old pen pals who has become a great friend and his wife are doing this for me, but he is heading back out to Iraq for 12 months and has to put his things in storage as well and his wife is going to stay with her family at first in California. If I want to ship them back, I have to first fly to South Carolina and do it myself.

By the way: Texas is out, North Carolina is in. Long storey, but my girls are thrilled and so am I. I will be in NC on the coast, for a week with my Aunt, Cousins and a friend of mine to do some property searches and job interviews, before heading down to Texas to see more family and friends.

Things are looking up. Getting organized, Court order to nail both fathers is going, Financial situation is in order again, I'm still dateless, my mother is pushing me to move and being very very positive about the whole move, work is work and I am keeping a low profile. LOL.

What is not new, but I am enjoying: I still have that little crush going over 3 months now. However, he isn't any material for anytime soon, his career makes it difficult for him to stay in one spot (military medical triage he's gone ALL the time around the world), but he does fascinate me, he is into me, he's mature, good looking, 37, but no official date, no anything and I think that's all it ever will be a little fantasy. We talk, we write and I am enjoying the flirt, but he knows I don't want to get involved in a relationship and he respects my decision. Still he does try every so often. LOL! What's even more fun is that he's my secret. LOL

Right now I am concentrating on just getting out of here and not starting anything with anyone ANYWHERE. I still don't want a relationship and I still don't want to date. Not even a vacation fling. Nope. I even gave up the FWB. He called me last week because I haven't kept my normal monthly schedule in the two months and I told him I just don't have any time until I get back at the end of May. Sooooooo, maybe by then he'll forget about me. BUT! I don't want to burn my bridges and tell him I am no longer interested, so I'll just play it by ear. LOL

Sorry I cried Wolf, but it just felt so right at the moment!

This is going to sound really stupid, but I didn't even look at who wrote the title, I saw the title and figured I'd skip it and get to it later. It's later!

I think you sound great, and I'm so glad you've made good progress in the areas of your life that were dragging you down. You can do a lot of searching on the internet to see the housing prices and the availablity of jobs and salary ranges. I think you should shoot for $40-45k per year (using my ratio of salary to take home pay, which will of course be different from yours) or as close to that as you can get.

I hear wonderful things about NC.

I saw that one too! I loved that she did that. I never knew too much about her but she is one cool woman.

Oh you're sooo funny! I admit I had the "WHAT THE.." reaction when I saw your title. haha.

You do sound so much more upbeat and positive and I'm thrilled for you.
I'm psyched you'll be moving to the EAST COAST! I'll only be a few states up the coast!

I really can't offer you much in the way of $ advice. But my thought is if you go on Monster they should have listings for that area, and you can see what some of the going salaries are in your field. Also, I believe they have some kind of salary advisor, that you put in the field and whether you have a degree blah blah blah and for that area, they'll tell you what the average salary is, and give you a range too. if that helps at all.

Big hugs
Tara

Hi there Catherine.

I've had a few family problems and due to that I haven't been around much.

Thanks for the tip Tara! I have a real idea and don't feel bad about going to high. I figured it out right. I gave a gap between 37-47 a year.

I'll tell you, but shhhh.... I try not to post my location on public forums so don't spread it around, lol.... I am just north of Philly. I agree with Baltimore as a good place to go. I'm not up for late girls nights out, but a nice relaxing lunch is exactly my pace.

Cat,

Congratulations! It's going to be so wonderful for you to finally come back home to the States. NC is will be great. Warm and sunny and so friendly (although everyone is friendly compared to NY, where I am). Keep us updated. BTW, I'm so glad you didn't run off and marry that letter guy- phew!
