I wanted to introduce myself. I've been reading the board for a while now. I'm a single mom and starting to date again after being divorced and ending a serious relationship. I have 2 kids my dd is 9 and my ds is 7. I've been divorced for 3 yrs. I'm a full time student and will graduate within the next 2 yrs.
I was wondering if yall could help me with something. Unfortunately because of my divorce and going back to school, I have to live at my parents house. Not really conducive to dating and spending alone time. But at the same time its good because then my kids aren't around anyone new. The kids usually go to my ex's eowe however that's not reliable because he travels alot for work. So any advice for this?
Also I went on a date last night with chef guy(CG). we had a great dinner lots of talking and great converstation. Just really got to know each other. Good food, good wine, great kiss.
TIA

Hi and welcome - from a UK expat - I am from Manchester living in So Cal going on 20 yrs now - you?

Welcome!!
I was very close to moving in with my mother, but I just didn't have it in me to fight for custody to move the girls out of state, and away from their dad. Its a smart move for some of us.. expecially the displaced housewives like myself. Instead I chose a different path of struggle and that is working full time, going to school, trying to date, bake brownies, and be the best mom I can.
Take pride in what you're doing.. its a tough road. Grats on the date. Just get out and have fun!!
and by then, it was too late."
Hello and welcome ukwildcatsfan78!! Glad to have you come out of lurkerdom!
As for your situation - I think it is okay - use it for a filter to find a guy who is into you and has good family values - not the type that likes to stay out all night. I think it is GREAT that your family is being so helpful and supportive - and really this is the best thing for you for right now til you can get more money coming in and get back on your feet.
Keep us posted about chefguy!
