Oooo Girl..I agree with your friend. I bet you were fuming! I know I would have been if ANYONE would have told me anything like that. And coming from a preacher?!? Holy cow! You should have asked if he was going to pay your bills for you if you quit.

That would have really, really ticked me off. Does he know or even care how judgemental that is?? Those are the kinds of congregations I RUN from.


Spirituality can be such a support and strength...but that kind of love does come with conditions. That preacher was awful to judge you like that. You're doing everything you can and what you're doing is making your home and life better for your kids. Shame on him!


It would have taken everything in me not to say to him "Well as SOON as God starts paying my bills and making the ends meet regularly maybe I'll stop working!!"

I agree with you. His judgements and actions were not exactly Christian. It is nice that you are helping your dad and getting paid to help foot the bill of raising 4 children never mind on your own. Time to find a new church is right!
