Shane's mom has cancer. She was diagnosed a couple of months ago with a form of Lymphoma. They expect her to make a full recovery, but as we all know, it's not 100%. We just all hope for the best. She is wearing a port right now to administer meds to treat the cancer. She was very sick with it a few weeks ago so Shane went to see her. He's been in denial since and I've let it go because he needs to deal with it as he wishes. Anyway, today he found out she was in the hospital and he immediately called me. This touched my heart. I know he called me first because I had a missed call and I called him back and when he told me about her, I asked him when he found out and he said right before he called me. Now I know this means nothing in terms of us being together but it meant he needs me. He called me and reached out to me in a moment. He could have called several others he cares about but he chose to call me. I value that. He said he may go see her tonight but isn't sure. She lives 2 hours away. He was supposed to come over tonight and I told him he needed to go see her. He said he'd let me know. I am worried about him because I know this is bugging him on top of all the other stuff we are going through. Pray for his mom, though. And pray for Shane to have the strength to get through this. He's already lost his father years ago to cancer. This is far too much for him.

I agree, he is not deserving of this. I feel so bad for him. I want him to know I am here, the door is open, but now, he just needs to knock because I am not leaving it open. I will never NOT be there for him. Hopefully he will see that he needs me, but if he doesn't, well, that is his decision to alienate me. I refuse to push.
