I agree that somebody else's happiness is not my responsibility.

Yea, men and their funk! They can totally go to cave mode. It sucks because we are communicators and they need time to go and be in their heads instead.

What I find works for me is to first offer your support and love, then say that when and if he wants to talk you'll be there. Then go and have fun doing something else! Get your mind off it. Bike ride, be with the kids, shopping, cooking...whatever. He will appreciate that you have given him time to work things out in his head. And he'll come back all hot and bothered for your attention ;o)

Just ask Isys...she is very good at keeping herself busy and having a happy life away form EG when necesssary! She is a great example of how to do this!

If I have any sort of close relationship with someone and do not want to talk with them about my issues then I would say that. But that's me and not him. We each are different and it's up to each of us to figure out what differences we can tolerate or accept and what things we don't.

Having such things happening in life is sucky and he is dealing the best way he knows how. Whether you find it tolerable to have a relationship with someone who does not even let you know why he is withdrawing is more the question.
