It's the small things....

OK, I just got this train of thought by reading Dancewithme's post. She wrote:
"I had similar things happen many times with him where he takes care of things without me even knowing. Simple things like when we hurry out sometime I forget to put something back in the fridge and then on my way I would be like "Gosh I forgot to put the milk back in fridge " and he says No I put it back.. "
That IS very sweet and it reminds me to be appreciative. In this day and age where it is so hard to find Mr or Ms right, it's easy to forget or not notice the good things. Well this is true for me anyway. I need to appreciate more... and scrutinize less. Heck, if I was scrutinized for my imperfections I would be single for life...lol. So here's some of the small things things I appreciate about not only my guy but people in general. I thought we could start thread here about what we appreciate about our friends, family, our lives, or our guys...the little things. It makes my day brighter just acknowledging that good things happen every day...
For me:
1) Blue Eyes kissed my bruised knee the other day. Such a small gesture but I loved it. Also sometimes he just picks up my hand and kisses it. It feels so caring.
2) The day HE was so sick with a cold...I went to his place to make him soup. He insisted on heating

1) My stash of dark chocolate hidden in my desk drawer.
2) Snuggling with my M&M's in the morning (my daughter and our dog)
3) The pretty yellow flowers (weeds :-)) on the side of the road on my way to work.
4) The meaningless, quirky texts from my british bloke throughout the day.
5) Listening to all four sing in the car to Sugarlands "Settlin"
I LOVE this thread.
YES I love this thread.. It

One of my students today told me I looked like I was 30. She is 45 and couldn't believe I was in the same "range" as her. (She didn't look mid-40's to me, either)
My best friend (who is going through a VERY rough time in her marriage) told me today that she looks at me and wishes she had my life. I guess- meaning the single mom's life- because I can almost do whatever I want and don't have the 'child-husband' relationship difficulties she is having (though I have BTDT for sure).
Hiker loves to open doors for me and is always a gentleman in every way.
My Dad helps me with lawnmowing.
Hiker asked me to be with him in a couple of weeks when he has a medical procedure done. He could've asked anyone in his world, but he asked me. And so I'm rearranging my workweek to fit it in. He initially wanted a different day because he knew I wasn't off that day- but he couldn't get it scheduled on my days off.
I buy Hiker some fancy chocolate coffee... he buys me a set of golf clubs. All for no reason except to just do it (and giving the other person something they'd like).

GREAT idea - thanks for thinking of it and asking us!!
1) I am so grateful for this board - to bounce ideas and to learn and share - and to have everyone posting their own things all the time - like this one :-)
2) I love my son and enjoy watching him grow - today on his run he got stronger and stronger and worked his way to the front of the group when I was coaching Xcountry - didn't need any prodding not to walk. And at the end he went and found my water bottle when I didn't know where it was.
3) I looked at all the runners and their parents and the volunteers who are helping me and said - this is all here because of my idea and efforts - and it all clicked great and it was nice that all the parents pitched in to be part of it.
4) The puppies teach me that you can fix a past mistake and do better the second time around. My other dog was so wild we had to give her away a few years back. But I got a lot of books and learned a lot and these two are very obedient and well trained citizens. And we just love them so so much. Can't imagine my life without them. But today when I called them they came right in instead of me having to chase them around the yard.
5) My helpers. Today they pitched in a lot when we were so so busy and they gave me great ideas.
6) The UPS driver - when he saw how busy we were - he said no worries I will be back in an hour so you have more time but your stuff doesn't get stuck in the rain.
I'll play along:
1)funnyguy's way of helping- in every little detail, he makes my life so much easier, and is happy to do it.
2)Droid cleaned his room without prompting today.
3)the driver who ALWAYS thanks me for my work and wishes me a safe trip home as i leave work for the night.
4)the neighbor who mowed the lawn just because today (we just moved and haven't gotten a mower yet).
5)the mechanic who brings me coffee every night when he knows I'm hitting my slump.
6)the stranger in the car in front of me who let me out when the line was enormously long and I wanted to turn tonight.
There are so many others, but this was a great way to think about all the small things I do appreciate!

2. it was a past relationship, but Carlos was SO thoughful. He always wanted to know how i was, what i was htinking, if i was ok, if i was comfortbale. Whenever i went for hte nite or weekend, he let me do NOTHING.

It's strange but true, how drivers on the road can either make your day or infuriate you! You gotta love the nice ones who let you in like that...!
I had a bout of steaming road rage today as some lady swooped into my parking spot this morning. I was growling and cursing practically...then had to relax and tall myself, it's just a parking spot for crying out loud! LOL!
I love your list, thanks for sharing it :o)
