When I saw Talladega Nights, I laughed so hard I cried. Does that count?

Oh I've got to rent that! My exH loved NASCAR and whenever it was on I couldn't help but ask..."is every NASCAR commentator required to have a deep southern acccent? Don't get me wrong, southern accents can be sexy but dang, every NASCAR commentator has that accent lol!

That memory has got me remembering some of the things my Ex loved that I never understood. NASCAR, the Steelers football, the WWF, Howard Stern, and that show about souping up Harleys. We never really related on those things....

You know... I can't relate to ANY of those things, either!!!!! lol I think the only similarity is that we all exist on the same planet. Oh- and the fact that the Cowboys can beat the Steelers. ;-)

I mean that has to be every boy's dream to have a mom like that who is brave enough to capture a mouse and keep it for a pet!

Brave?!?? You wouldn't use the word 'brave' to describe me had you seen me JUMP when the mouse first jumped out of the bucket and ran away! And when I jumped when the mouse came out of that humane trap and came UPWARD toward me (and my hand!!!!) and then ran away! I would've screamed like a girl had I not been so surprised that I couldn't make any sound! Yikes! lol

Has the mouse gotten tame enough to hold? What do the kids think?

Hold?!?!? Are you serious?!? HOLD??? No way!!!! Ninja mouse has one of those icky long naked TAILS that I won't touch!!! She might be cute and all... but that TAIL... ewwww. I love hamsters and all their tail-less and JUMPLESS glory... and have no problem picking one of them up. But a rodent with a naked tail??? Not me!!! There is just something about those long rodent tails that creeps me out. People who keep rats for pets?!?? Not me! Their naked tails are even BIGGER and longer! ***shudder***

The kids don't try to hold the mouse, either. They won't even pick up our turtle! lol I don't mind the turtle (because he HIDES from me) because picking him up is just picking up that hard shell. No naked long tail to creep me out. lol

I do prefer the furry and cute four-legged traditional pets for cuddling and hugging. The dog and cat are CHOSEN pets. The turtle and mouse were picked-up strays that weren't supposed to live long in captivity, but have. I'm just too soft-hearted to set them free, back to the wild where they came.

If you liked Talladega Nights, I think you'll also like Blades of Glory:

But you are good in that you did not use a snaptrap and you allowed Ninja to remain as a pet. And never mind your list of pets - turtle, mouse, dog, cat! We have our hands full with 2 big dogs and DS wants a 3rd one which is absolutely NOT an option right now!!

I would probably agree regarding the matter of the naked tail.

I think you are so funny - such a curious george - and that is a good thing!! LOL!!

OK I've been avoiding Talladega Nights mainly because I got lukewarm reviews from my kids but heck, worth a rental when I'm by myself during a Sat night.

Blades of Glory?!! sheeeze... Hey I did finally break down and see Dodgeball.

I loved Stranger Than Fiction despite my initial misgivings of Will Ferrell in it.

I really like Adam Sandler. He's a thoughtful actor who seems to put his heart into his roles. I loved his
