When it's Cold Outside, I've Got The Month of May....
Well, I was whining about the weather being cold, and boy did my wish ever come true! The past three days, it's been hot, hot, hot! (It was 97 two days ago, 94 yesterday- way high for this area this time of year) The sun has shown, the skies were blue, the humidity was stifling, and I was loving every minute of it!
So, now we're into June. Thunderstorms today. I love a good thunderstorm. It'll cool things off some, and that's all right, too. Summer's here!
The kids are doing well, I'm busy with them, and work, and just gettin' on with life. No news on the dating front at all- but I'm good with that right now.
No major plans for this weekend for me- just going to clean, chill with the kids, maybe work on my tan, play my sax.
Anyone else have plans for this weekend?

well...today marks the beginning of hurricane season....ugh! Tomorrow I close on my house and for the next month I will be moving in - YAAY!!!!!
OMG - Hunter scared the crap outta me last night. He pulled Aaron's (~i~) tool chest down on top of him....it stands almost as tall as me (5'5") and it's metal....He's okay, but I thought I was gonna have a heart attack - I swear I'm gonna be gray before I hit 30....thank god for hair dye! lol
Moody,
It's been in the 90's and humid here for the last week too. This weekend is going to be interesting. Friday is just my cleaning day, and Saturday I'm going to spend most of the day on the boat, teaching Caleb to fish. then Saturday night I'm introducing my boyfriend to my parents. Then, just relaxing on Sunday. that's it. Fun fun.
Have a great weekend everyone!!
Kira
It has been hot here too and I LOVE it!! :)
My son and I are going to a McDonald's b-day tomorrow. It will be his first official b-day of a friend party. :) (Woobie is 2)
We are heading out to a pancake breakfast with my dad on Saturday morning--early! It's a big thing called the Dairyland Breakfast and a different farm around here hosts it every year. They have a petting zoo and games and face painting for the kids. It's cheap and quality family fun. All three of us eat for 6 dollars and the games are like 50 cents or so.
Then my daughter has a b-day party in the afternoon. I swear, my chili's have more of a social life than I do!!

Glad Hunter's okay, Janet! Kids definitely have a way of scaring the crap out of us!
I don't have to worry about hurricanes, just ticks from the woods, and mosquitoes, around here, in the summer. Stay safe!

I so know what you mean, Snow! Mine actually Do have more of a social life than I do at this point.
Last night the phone rang 4 times from the time I got home (around 5:30) til bedtime for the kiddos (8pm)... all 4 times, it was for one of the kids.
I was thinking, when I handed Android the phone the second time (and it was a *girl*) that it's a sad, sad state when your seven year old gets more air time than you do. He wants to borrow her CD, he tells me, so he can burn it. And he can't believe a *girl* would like Green Day, anyhow. Because, you know, that's guy music. So, the *girl* said, well, if it's guy music, why don't you already have the CD then (And I cheered her on) smarty pants?
And so it begins. Whatever happened to pushing on the playground and pulling pigtails?
Moody- who remembers these days and isn't ready to repeat them, even vicariously through her children

I do!!
I am going to bring my daughter over to my parents late Saturday afternoon and they are going to watch her while I go out with my sister - we are going to grab a bite to eat then go out for a few drinks at a little place that she and I used to hang out in. (It happens to be owned by a guy I briefly dated and with whom I remained friends until I hooked up with my ex). I am not looking to hook up - just some fun flirting!
I haven't been out like this since before my pregnancy, so it has been well over a year and I am psyched!!! I will admit that I feel funny not being the one giving her dinner and her bedtime bottle, since this will be a first for me, but I know she is in great hands.
Then Amber and I are both going to spend the night at my parents' place since she will already be in bed and it is a few minutes away from this establishment, so it is nice and close!
I am not certain what Sunday holds yet - too psyched about Saturday night!

Samantha- have a great time! We all need a night like that sometimes, so enjoy it! Knowing Amber's in great hands will make it easier for you to enjoy yourself, so have fun!

Thanks, moody! I am sure it will be a blast and I am really, really looking forward to it! I guess because I am a new mom, I feel guilty about the fact that, as much as I love Amber, I still am looking forward to doing something "adult." Everyone tells me I'll get over it, and I am sure once I take her to my parents and I am having a good time, I'll feel better, but I still feel so guilty!
