Well, for all intensive purposes, it looks like he had a tantrum and you won. I would let it go.

He has every right to ask to borrow the dog. And you have every right to say no. And if he was sweet and accommodating you would still be married to him and not have SEV.

When you set boundaries, it is common that they don't like it - especially - I think - if they don't like them to begin with they tend to make a bigger squawk. I bet he won't ask that again.

Don't let him ruin your day!!

You're right, I'm not going to let him ruin my day - or even put a damper on it.

Hugs Moon!!

I'd be ticked, too. Mostly because he has the immature audacity to say those things in front of your girls...what, to make fun of you?? Is he 7??

You handled this very well, by stating your case and not catering to him. I agree- he's a jerk which he showed you again the other day by having a tantrum over the phone at what- 6am?

I'm sorry you have to deal with a control freak drama ex. He does

Geesh what a loser. Sorry you had to go through/hear that crap.
We are on spring break too and I am trying to cope since there have been no offers to help and I was considering asking but after this post I will take that as a sincere message from the universe to suck it up and keep to schedule.
So ridiculous that he is going to badmouth you to them in an immature fit as if they will side with him! It is clear your girls love you so much. I second Alison's suggestion to sit down with them and give coping strategies for when things get heated - just so that they feel more in control afterwards.
BIG HUGS!!
I think you handled things just right. Now just press the reset button by looking at SEV and knowing you have done SOOO much better now:)

Not sure if the dog was "his" together w/ you guys when you were together, if so, then I can see his asking to spend time w/ her - but at YOUR discretion. She IS nowyour dog & YOU know whats best.
