OMG what a horrible position you found yourself in and kudos to you for jus being yourself and doing the right thing. I think many people would have just been bothered, told everyone else about it, and left it for the woman to discover. I know that sounds cynical but they have done studies on stuff like this and a lot of society seems to have no moral fiber AT ALL!!! You are great and she is lucky to have you around. I do hope this helps her make her decision. It sounds like this guy may have been messing around long before this to me...

THat is a great point you just made. It makes me wonder....
in today's hyper litigious world, where on Oprah they had a woman on who had sued her husband's mistress for ruining her marriage and quality of life and WON, could a woman who dated that man and got burned, SUE match for participating in his misrepresentation of himself - i.e. fraud? When people can sue for emotional distress, financial loss ( possibly in traveling to meet such a person, phone bills, etc) - what kind of disclaimer does match have out there for its members to protect the company against such a suit? Just a thought. I mean I would have never thought a wife could sue a mistress and win millions but it happened. And we all know there are plenty of men ( and women I assume) who go on and sign up and claim to be divorced when they are separated or claim to be separated when like this guy, they are really still together and in counseling silently weighing their options...I suppose people could even sue on grounds that they were mislead by false info into going against their own religious beliefs or moral ones. Certainly some people believe that if they commit adultery they are buying a express ticket to hell, right? That could get sticky.

this is just my personal opinion but I think that people sue too much over stupid stuff. Seriously. It makes me sad to see all of the ways that people can screw over others.
