PP being the "picky palace" - I am making fun of myself :-)

Okay - I was working this morning to get stuff done and all of a sudden realized the time and said holy cow I have like 15 minutes to get ready. Thank goodness it is to get icky outside and I don't need to do my hair. I flew through the shower, light makeup and a good running outfit, ponytail and hat. Arrived on time.

We took the boats out and I got a crash course on how to navigate a kayak racing boat! Okay - so from big baluba barge type rental boat that my son and I rented to extremely nimble skinny thing that turns on the dime with a rudder and tips if you breathe!! LOL!! He and the guy in the store said if I can paddle that thing and not fall out I can paddle anything. So, that kept yours truly from being overanalytical!! LOL!! Just kidding - I was having fun and pretty soon it got easy. The only thing is that my hamstrings are tight from doing so much biking and running and I wanted to stretch them but didn't dare because I might tip over - I guess you get used to that?

He is really good at kayaking and has all the racing stuff and a really fast boat. But he has a daughter here and his dad needs his help so he doesn't race as much - works out a lot to stay in shape he says.

We went on an out and back and chatted - he told me about his racing and stuff. The purpose of our outing was to teach me kayaking and let me try that boat to see if I want to do more paddles in it while I am waiting to buy a boat. We looked at some in the store. I can tell he wants to go again and he is being polite and cautious.

So, I don't know - I would go kayaking again - and I have 2 notes from him. :-)

I had to go after our outing because a friend of mine passed away this week and so I went to her house for the family gathering. Which is sort of another story - it was so uplifting because my friend accomplished such great things and had SO many friends.

Now I am back home working so DS and I can get away to the keys for 2 days.

It is a top sitting one - but is made for racing so very narrow, hence the tippiness.

I am in a bit of a "research" mode with finding one to buy - because I don't want the big barge type one - it is too heavy and doesn't navigate well and I will get sick of it having to lift it - I want one that is comfortable but light - because I have to put it up on top of my car and carry it to the water. Also don't want one that tips easy - although those are the lightest and fastest.

They have so many here!!

Yeah you get the kayaks and the PFD's and then you have to get a roof rack so they'll stay on top of the car.
