Kiddies' names

Pacific,
Reading through a thread started by you, I noticed your daughter's name, Sierra, which struck me as a really beautiful name.
It got me wondering what other kids' names people liked. I have tons of girls' names which I love, and one especially that I would definitely have given to a girl if I had had another baby. So, what names does everyone like?
Mine are:
Girls
India (I would almost want another baby just to give her this name)
Belinda
Frauke (German name, which Monkey loves)
Boys
Paul
Jake
Josh
:o)

Thank you, Clemm! I knew from the time I was young that if I had a daughter I would name her Sierra. I grew up near Tahoe and so I fell in love withthe Sierra Nevadas. That is how she got her name. It's very fitting to her also...she's a natural beauty, she loves the outdoors, and her eyes are as green as the towering pines.
If I would have had a boy his name would have been Joshua Tomas or Daniel. These days I like the name Zephyr for some reason. Other girls names I love are Erin, Anne, and Holly.
your mention of liking the name "India" reminds me of my long-time love of the girl name "China".
i also like Maya and Mia.
and i think its very nice to have a middle name after a beloved family member, even ourselves ;)
LOL...that's a cute story!
Throughout my pregnancy I felt like I was going to have a boy. In fact, when I had dreams while pregnant I would see a boy. I was convinced, but I truly wanted a girl in my heart. I would have been ecstatic either way, but when SHE came out, I was so happy! I had even bought a little dress and had it hung up in the nursery before knowing, in hopes of a girl.
As for having more kids, I feel settled with my one. If things continue with Blue Eyes more kids are out of the question, cuz he's been snipped. My life feels complete with my DD
I always liked older, traditional, family names.

Names... I loved naming my kids... one of the first things i was excited about after becoming pregnant was picking a cool name.. but then i would drive myself crazy and be soo indecisive about the name... d'oh..
I love the names i've given my children...
Amethyst for my oldest... but i'm not as happy with her middle name... it isn't bad but it doesn't have any significant meaning... her middle name is Deanna(after star trek's deanna troy).... (in retrospect, Darcy or Dena would have been better after the lamaze teacher)
My oldest son is named after Maxwell Smart.. his name is Maxwell Coyote.. but he is always called Max.... We almost used Coyote for the first name but couldn't find a middle name that didn't sound like a cartoon character...
My favorite of all my children in my middle child... Kainen Elijah... I love that name...
I was in my most weird name mode at that time.. if he was a girl I would have named him Sienna...
Other weird names on his list were Merlin, Orion, and Neptune... he really dodged a bullet didn't he...LOL.
When i got to child 4 and 5, i was out of my weird name mode... with Rosemary and Gloria.

Well, my oldest (who is 19 and grown and my only biological child) son's name is Cory. I just loved that name and there was no other reason. Seems it was a pretty popular name in the late 80's when he was born. His middle name is Joseph after his dad.
My other three are adopted and I was only able to name the youngest as he was only 4 days old when he came home. His name is Wesley Alexander. No specific reason just a name we liked. Not too common and it suits him. My other two were older when they came home and already had names. Shy was 27 months and his name is Shykeim. Couldn't really change it at that point so that is his name although he only wants to be called Shy he hates Shykeim for whatever reason. We did give him a middle name, Andrew, which is my brother's middle name. I love that name. My daughter was almost 3 and a half and already had a name as well, Bracey. It is different and we toyed with calling her Gracie because she gets called that most of the time anyway but in the end decided that she needed to keep her identity. We gave her a middle name as well, Colleen, after my ex's mom.
If I would have been able named Shy and Bracey, they would have probably been Benjamin Andrew and either Audrey Colleen or Isabel Colleen. I like simple, traditional names as a general rule.
So that is my name story.
