Laundry habits - what is best?
| Mon, 09-10-2007 - 5:05pm |
I was having a lively discussion with my secretary this morning. She waits til the last minute to do HUGE loads of laundry, while I do mini loads like every other day.
What are your laundry habits? What is best?
I just know that I don't like to get overwhelmed with huge loads and I have a very low water setting for the smaller loads.

Darks, lights, whites- I just do EVERYTHING in ONE load on cold- that's the way I've always done it- no sorting for THIS puppy!
Well as a general rule I do it every 7 - 10 days and usually when we are running out of something. I hate doing it and so I put it off. I try to do it all in one day and several loads (reds, lights, darks and whites). I fold on my bed as I go throughout the day and the kids come at the end of the day and put their own away. I give it to them in stacks (underwear, pants, short sleeves etc) so all they have to do is put in their drawers. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I don't wash my clothes every time I wear them depending on what it is so that cuts down some.
I do the beds one each day. Strip, wash, dry and remake. I hate to fold so that saves time on that.
That is my story.
Well, I read somewhere that you actually end up doing MORE laundry if you do several, smaller loads, and that means you're spending more time, energy, and money on laundry than if you did a few larger loads. BUT, whenever I've waited till there are heaps of laundry to do, it seems to be worse than if I do laundry whenever I've got a load, so I do some pretty much every day. Given a choice, though, I'd rather just let someone else do it however they please, lol, because I HATE laundry! AAAAAGH! ;)
if you notice my siggy changes often..its because I have a rotator! youre not going crazy ;) lol
