physical, I wanna get physical, let's get into physical, I wanna hear your body talk, your body talk, let me hear your body talk.....
SO, my newest thing, and it's a whopper.... most of you know that my father has cancer, lymphoma to be exact. Well, the NLS (National Lymphoma Society) is sponsoring a half-marathon run in June, and my girlfriend got the info sent to her.
By Friday, I had been talked into walking the run in honor of my father, and she was going tot rain to run it. She's the one who recently had a baby, so it's perfect timing for her, as she's really into running, wants to get her body back into shape from the pregnancy, and it's for an excellent cause, which will give her incentive to go through with it.
These are excellent reasons for her to run it. My reasons have got to be nothing more than lunacy, but I've been talked into it, and now we're planning training 4-5 nights a week, I've completely revamped my diet to make it possible for me to run, and have incorporated some workout videos and weights into my life.
My body's talking all right, it's telling me I'm insane, that this is cruel and unusual punishment, and since all these endorphins are racing through my system, I can't even be angry about being conned into this hedonistic workout and lifestyle change.
It's very good for me, I know, and we're certainly working up to it- but already I'm feeling the burn! It's a good thing, tells me its working, and gives me even more incentive to keep it up.
So, that's my newest thing, I've become a label reading, protein eating, fruit loving fitness buff. By June, I'm sure I'll look like a completely different person, and will have spent lots of quality time cursing out (er, running with) one of my best friends in the world. That's priceless. I'm happy to be doing this for me, for my dad, and with my friend. I just have to remind my muscles of that.
Moody, getting physical

I did better last night- the first night of actual running- than I thought I would. We're running a few times a week, and each doing our own thing the other nights. Another plus is that another friend has expressed interest in doing it, too. So with three of us working together, it'll keep us on track and working toward our goal.
I know you've been running a lot longer than I have- I've never liked it... but maybe now I will. Eating better is really working for me, since I know my body needs actual fuel for something, and I'm not just eating because it's easy or tastes good. That's been the biggest change so far.
Moody, feeling healthier already
