Shane's friend in Dallas is a mortgage broker and needed to get someone in this area to do mortgages so he can branch out here and expand the business. He works for a very large bank and chose me to do the job since I have a background in accounting. I'm pretty excited. I can do it from home so I am still here to get Dylan when he gets out of school. I need to drive to Dallas (1.5 hours) to learn the computer program and then he'll handle all the other stuff as far as getting me the things I need to get started here. He's planning on putting ads in the paper here as well as posting me on a billboard and the local cable ads. He's got a partner who was a former Dallas Cowboy that will be featured in pictures with me to promote me further in the area. We have a lot of great ideas to spring me into action. What's even cooler is that since we're buying this house, this guy, my new boss, will be able to handle the financing. So we know we're getting the best deal we can get.
Wish me luck. It will be a little bit before I actually get started since paperwork takes time, but I'm thinking it will be good for me to have something to do again.

CONGRATULATIONS MEL!!!
This sounds like the perfect opportunity for you! I'd love to work at home in some ways, but then the other day Ty was sick and I had to stay home with him and I was ready to climb the walls after a few hours. I don't think I'd make a very good stay at home mom, except for with a really little one. Preschool age.
Were you actively seeking something you could do from home, or did this just "land in your lap"? How are you feeling?
I'm feeling well. No morning sickness this time around. Being pregnant with Dylan was horrible! 3 full weeks of dry heaves!!! But I did lose lots of weight and crave salads and fruit so I looked amazing. Now I am not feeling sick and am hungry. I also am wanting bad stuff like Taco Bell. I don't indulge all those cravings though. I eat my normal sized meals and then one snack a day. That's it. Plus I'm looking into classes for Yoga and Pilates at my gym to help with toning and relaxation. I'm entering week 7 and am going to see my OB on Tuesday. After that, a week later, I get to see the baby and Shane will be with me on that visit. Just very excited and looking forward to buying this house and having this little monkey.

I am a WAHM - work at home mom - and I love it - feel very blessed for this opportunity. The home office does have its own set of challenges, however they are very minor and a small price to pay for flexibility and being with your kids.
Wow, sounds like things are going into place for you and Shane! I am so happy you have a job again and working from home! Gosh I'd LOVE that... Someday for me and J.
Congrads,
