Looks like we may have the house now

Not to burst my own bubble, but I spent all day and I mean ALL DAY at the bank today waiting on a fax to come in with our account statements. Then we realized as they came thru that we had written checks on my old account for rent for about 6 months and I had to go and hope against hope that they could/would print them out for me. I hadn't used that account since May of this year.
Well, lucky for us, they still had the history and I got it right away. I had to pay them $18.00 but that's a small price to pay to get the house.
The sellers woke up this morning and were ready to quit. The lender dropped the ball so much, they were sick of it and had given up on it happening. No one blames us and it wasn't our fault, but the sellers had decided it was over no matter what. It was up to the realtors to talk them back into the game and give us some time to get the stuff we promised.
They wre gracious and gave us an extra day so we close tomorrow if all we fax over is acceptable. Hopefully, it is since they didn't exactly give us any time to gather it. We have 12 months of statements for them with rental checks listed and circled plus the deposit history and a copy of our lease agreement. That should be sufficient. They can't ask for anything else, right?
My mother works for a bank and says that if they don't accept that, they are being unreasonable because they have no reason to ask for cancelled checks when banks no longer give those back. It would be weeks and lots of money to get those copies. We managed to get our stuff free except of my old bank stuff.
It looks like we should close tomorrow morning. 3 days late, but still closing in enough time so we can have the weekend next weekend to move. Oh girls, pray they accept what we supplied. We went thru so much today to get it and poor Shane was crying at the bank. I can't take it when he's so sad and I feel like there is nothing I can do to help him.

Okay, we're set for about 4 o'clock today. I'm really happy about it. I was supposed to take Dylan to Scott, but in light of the schedule and me having to be at closing because of community property laws, it woul dbe too late to drive if I left right after signing. Also Scott's wife is sick with a viral infection in her chest. Contagious. The money is there, we're funded and the documents are ready. All we have to do is sign.
Pray that it goes well. I'm really nervous.

Well, we have to wait til Monday morning at about 11. The documents were not in on time and we went there for no reason. Our lender called and told us to go down there to the title company and they hadn't even sent the documents. What fools!
So we're at the mercy of the sellers to move out in a timely manner so we can get out of here by the deadline.
We went back later and saw the documents, but could not sign them yet. The seller's agent was there and she called her clients to let them know that the closing stuff was all there and we were set to go Monday morning so she assumes they will begin to move stuff this weekend since the documents were held in her hands and were legal and correct.
So pray the sellers move out in time for us to get in.

I really appreciate that. It seems to be a sure thing now that the papers ARE in the title company's office. That's all we had hoped would happen all along so we could just do this thing. Of course had we closed on Friday, we woul dhave had a sure bet they'd be out for us to move all next weekend, but now that we close Monday, it's hard to say how long they will elect to take. Their realtor seems to know we are in a crunch for time, but it's not our call anymore. We've got no strings to pull any longer. The seller's were inconvenienced by our less than perfect offer when they could have had a full cash offer from the other people, and had no choice but to give us the chance to do what we could to get the house. When we showed dedication to it, they knew we were serious, but then our lender became ignorant. Neglecting to ask for things he KNEW we needed and we got burned. Almost lost that house and almost ended up homeless. Our rental house has been leased to another tenant and the property manager is not a reasonable woman. She'd never alow us to stay even though we've been great and paid on time. The house is in great shape and we haven't messed up a thing. It's no big deal for her to allow a family to go out on the streets if we had lost the house.
Oh well, thank goodness we no longer have to work with her.
Come tomorrow, we'll be owners of a nice home of our own and no one will be able to tell us how to live in it. We will be able to paint, get a dog if we choose, and plant the flowers we like. Just like we deserve.
