I apologize if this has been there done that, but I just recently (last week) started reading this book in hopes it would alleviate some of the new needy ick feelings I've been having and wanting to squash LOL I feel like if I don't get a hang on this I'll end up sabatoging my relationship with Mr.RCMP.

Ok, so I'm not that far into the book yet since I only get 5 or 10 minutes here & there to read it between housework and being a mom and dayhome stuff. And I wanted input from those who have read it.

-Did you find the book insightful? Useful? Accurate?
-What did you like most (if anything)

Oh yes - that book is quite insightful in my opinion. It is like all of a sudden you are given the secret code to understand the basic differences between men and women.

I thought the book was a Must Read.

The only wisdom I can offer is not to get too hung up on males versus females, and look for traits as individuals because the stereotypes can reverse themselves.

If you are pressed for time and feeling like you need some quick advice skip through and read "Why Women are like Waves" and "Why Men are like Rubber Bands".

I have never read it either--I think out of spite--when my ex (DD father) was trying to get me to come back to him he read that book and song it's praises!

I agree. I haven't got that far in yet, not in a rush, but just reading the first part, and the author eludes to the rubber band part and I had that thought of "Yup, this is gonna completely tie it up neat & tidy for me in regards to Mr.RCMP. I can relate so much of that book to us already its not funny. Its just really nice to see it in print and know I'm not crazy for suspecting he's doing this stuff (being all gushy lovey one minute and then kinda pulling back the next and it all corresponds with his work stresses and whats going on that has nothing to do with me, yet I'm the one sitting back going "what's going on?" giving him the cave space IS hard for me. I'm a fixer and nurturer and that whole bit on women who give to much and resent it, that's totally ME. I LOOOOVE to take care of my man and I love to feel appreciated and cherished and when he pulls back and I'm not getting from him what I want when I want it, I get bitter. So its been helpful. If nothing else, than to fill my quiet time after kids are in bed and I don't want to mull stuff over too much and över think and over analyze things"

I knew about the book and its existence and how everyone claimed to love it and still never bothered to pick it up. Can't explain why. I guess I just wasn't ready to absorb the info yet. But I'm glad I'm reading it now. I really would recommend you read it too. I might give you some "a-HA" moments as well. And I'm just finding its taking all these loose ends I wasn't sure what to do with before, and neatly tying them up for me. If that makes sense. NOT SAYING ITS SOLVING ALL MY PROBLEMS. But I will say its definitely explaining some things, and giving me some insight on what Mr.RCMP is perhaps dealing with and how he processes things so differently from me. A lot of what the book talks about women, is very much the type of person I am, so I can really relate to it that way. Not exactly all of it, but I'm taking from it what I relate to and putting red astrix beside the parts I really connected with there are marks all over some pages LOL That way later I can read those parts again when things are quiet (kids in bed and I'm not so exhausted I'm falling into bed too LOL) I think I paid $13 for a new copy at Chapters Books when I ordered online. I ordered another couple books I had wanted so I could get free shipping (for orders over $39)
