So i'm not sure if you guys remember, but the other guy i was dating lied to me and wasn't there when i had a bad day.....he tried calling me and after a few days we finally talked, I thought we were giving it one more shot, we even met up twice, but he just doesn't call anymore...so...didn't officially break up but how much more obvious can it be.....
I went out saturday nite with some girls from work, and I met this new guy, J, the only thing is that he's 22, I'm 23, but being that I have a 2 year old I thought our maturity levels would be off a bit...but so far he seems really nice....we've talked everyday, and he seems really interested...he's really cute, and he's so funny, it's quite a change from that month and a half relationship....I thought he'd have a problem that I have a son, but through talking he told me his dad walked out on him and his mom when he found out his mom was pregnant (kinda' like my story), and he has a step-father that pretty much raised him.....so I'm hoping his parents won't mind that I have a baby.....we'll see, our first date will be the first weekend of may since my son goes to his dad...he sounds like a good guy, and he got along with my friends.....
It just seems so soon, but it was so unexpected because either of us went out that nite thinkin' we'd meet someone, it just kinda' happened, we were just there hanging out with friends, and we've clicked instantly

Usually, the best things happen when we aren't looking for them. My mother used to tell me "The watched pot never boils" (I *might* have been an impatient person)... and I try to remember that.

Take things slowly with J, but remember to have fun, too! You're both young, and even though you have a child, you still get to be a person, outside of the role of "Mommy". It took me a long time to realize that (I was 23 with a 2 year old, also), and now, I'm much happier, and so are my children.

Meeting someone when you aren't looking for it can be so much more fun that searching and searching for someone, because it's like a wonderful surprise. Christmas morning is wonderful, all of the anticipation and build-up, but isn't it even more awesome to be surprised with a gift for absolutely no reason? This is sort of the same thing.

Good luck with J, and keep us posted. Just go slowly, there's no rush, and have fun!

I agree with this post. It is very well said.

It seems that you do find the right person when you are not looking and when you are all you can be for the right person. A friend of mine just got a call from a guy she met a year ago. I remember her meeting him - he is a grad student and was really into her but explained that he had to get a certification and his feet established in a great job before he does the dating and family thing because when he does that he wants to go all the way so to speak.

And you know what? He has a great job and just called her for a date - so she is going this weekend. I am so excited for her - and this story just goes to show that you never know what a day will bring. She hasn't really been looking - she has been busy with school, work and her family.

OH WOW - well now you owe her one!! Just kidding. For some reason I always thought you were upgrading your computer and this is just a funny twist of fate for me, knowing how you have had to deal with your mom of late.

Maybe I should stop buying all of my computers online!! LOL!!
