I went to my athletic event this weekend - was in a town close to here. My usual event buddies were away at another event - so this basically left my by myself.
I got there early - and was standing around with a bunch of the other athletes chatting. We were near the water - and there were all of these huge fish jumping up and down. So I inquired as to what they were - they were a species of very large game fish that I had previously only seen in an aquarium - so that was neat.
There were lots of nice single guys - and I was talking to quite a few of them. One in particular was really nice - he is my age (we all have our ages marked on our legs - LOL!!). He is single and from a town that is like an hour from here. We talked so much that we almost missed starting our race on time.
He gave me his name and said he would definitely see me at the finish. We also discovered that his coach lives next door to one of my friends. And that we are both doing our next race together (hence he knows where to find me)
When I crossed the finish line I ran into so many athletes I know - I forgot about him - until my friend (who showed up to see it finish) and I were leaving. So if he tried to find me he probably couldn't - we had to be in the shade for her dog.
So to make a long story short - he was cute and we flirted and had fun.
I think it is cool that I was there without all of my usual friends - if I was there with them in the morning we would have talked and stayed in our own little world. This way I was more available to talk to a bunch of fun single guys!! So that is a good thing. My next race will be like that too.
So I am not sure if anything will come from this - but it sure is refreshing to find someone cute who is my age and single and who does the same thing and flirts!!
And I wanted to share the story because maybe we all need to be a little more available and out of the big flock of friends for some things!! LOL!!

Very cool!
Why do you put your ages on your legs? Just wondering.
Good for you to flirt and have fun, and I agree that when we're with our friends doing something we enjoy, we tend to be absorbed into ourselves, not that it's a bad thing, just natural.
You've inspired me to try something I like to do, but alone. I'll think of something, and let you all know how it goes.
Yay!

Well how fun and what
I think they put the ages because that is how we compete - in age groups? It makes for some fun on the day for sure - like when you pass guys who are younger - that is fun!!
Glad to hear you will try something new - keep us posted - we always love your stories!
That sounds fun!
