I suppose that could be "parent moment" for the sake of our dads, too.
This morning I got up to go to the pool - 5:45AM. On "pool mornings" DS has to get up himself with his alarm clock, shower and get ready for school, make breakfast and take care of the dogs.
At 6AM I was getting ready to leave and was going to wake him up to say goodbye - but he wasn't in his room. He was in the shower with the dogs in the bathroom, too. He was talking and as I listened, I discovered he was reciting this really long poem he has to deliver in English class today. And I had this pang - OMG - he is getting BIG!! He didn't need me to get him up or practice his homework. And the dogs were his audience. So, I said goodbye and hurried off to swimming. When I got back the whole lot of them were ready to go, so off to school we went! It is good he is self sufficient - but in a way it is a sad milestone!
I bet everyone has these - share!!
