Rebecca, I so love hearing your stories! I'm not really that sorry that things didn't work out with this guy- but that's probably because I'm in Carlos' corner! Not that I don't think you should date, but I like what you write about Carlos and the never married thing doesn't really bother me- probably because I like everything else you write about him. As far as this guy goes... NEXT!! I hope the Ben & Jerry's was good!
ROFL R!!! Just WHERE do you find these guys?!?? Oh yeah- wait... online! lol ;)
So online isn't all bad- I found Hiker online, and I'm still in perma-grin from a weekend spent with him (not all weekend, but a chunk of time on both Sat and Sun) and he is SUCH the keeper. :-D
Anyway- that guy SHOULD have bought some munchies or something!! 2.5 hrs during the dinner hour and not even snacks?!?? I wouldn't go out with him, either- not just the food part (though it sucks- because I love to eat- lol) but also because you just didn't hit it off.
And that part about warning you that he might not call right away? That is so lame! If he is THAT busy, then he's too busy to date. He's probably had a long line of 1st and 2nd dates but not much more. I do see his point though- about not wanting women to be sitting around waiting for him to call. Just how often do we hear someone posting on the boards about that very same thing??? I guess in a way- he is at least being honest and not trying to lead anyone on. Women just need to get off that "waiting for the phone to ring" thing... and to not get mad when a man doesn't call. Just say "NEXT!!!" instead and move on, if he isn't interested enough to call enough for your liking. If he is truly interested, he WILL call. If he doesn't, then he isn't THAT into you and you can freely move on. Yeah... "Next!!!" is a good thing to keep as a little mantra for early dating.
I have to tell you though... you didn't tell enough details. I want to know what flavor of B&J you had. I hope it was a chocolate-type one. Mmmmmmm heaven!
