"Letting go" at any age is sooo hard and you have every right to check in "too much". Don't feel guilty about the much needed rest. 2 years olds can be a handful day after day. You probably deserved it! When my DD was that age, she would stay with one of my sisters overnight every now and again and my sister would tease me about needing a "Mom Vacation".
Oh my goodness!!! A week!!! I completely agree with Rosecolored....when my DDs gone it's like not having a limb! Yeah he comes back to you tomorrow! I bet you are excited. I would be too! I can only imagine how you missed him :o) It's good you got some rest and had a little vaca to do as you please. I would have done as you did...vegged and got lots of sleep..chores can always wait hehe.
Glad you will get to reunite with the lil' guy tomorrow :o)
I can totally relate. The first time D3 was away from me for a week it was really hard on BOTH of us. She was super clingy after she came home and literally would not let me out of her sight. She has fun at her dad's and adores him, but she needs stability and consistency in care at her young age and she really notices when her schedule has changed. Enjoy your reunion, and be prepared for some adjustment time. I always try to do something constructive when the kids are gone for a week. They'll go for their dad's half of Xmas break the week following New Year's. I'm finally going to get my bathroom tile installed! Yeah!!! QueenBun
That is good news you are getting him back. 2 is so young and he is still a baby. I know that would have been hard for me as well. I still don't like it when he goes away for more than a day - and he is almost 12. He just thrives in my home because he is the center of it and we do have structure and many positive factors that enhance his life.
Yay for you guys!!!!!! How heartwarming that must be- for him to say he's "home" when he comes back to you!
I'm glad you had a short Mommy-break, and I'm glad that your baby is back- and that everything went well! It's also great that his dad tries to keep the same routine. I know my kids' dad hardly ever did, and then I would have to "reprogram" them once they came back home.
I can feel your excitement!!!!
Thank you!
To answer your question... his father lives in another state 6 hours away and he is a pilot so he is gone a lot.
